Don't think the 163/152 SOE batch are being refurbished yet. A handful of Merton's SOEs are being used elsewhere on loan, B9TLs taking its place for the time being.

The Gemini 2 vehicles for Metroline at AH (VW1034-VW1055 for sure, I'm uncertain about whether the rest are) are in the process of being refurbished, I believe VW1034 and VW1038 are already complete.

28's allocation is WN35001-4, VN37952-62, VN37988-96 which all have been refurbished for the 28 although most of them are mainly used on the 25 or 266. 19756-67 is in progress for the 145. 36280-99 is complete for the 366. Also WVL345 is part of X26 allocation.

Also, I've only heard of WVL334-344 being for the X26 and that was from a good source.

WVL334-344 is 11 buses. If WVL345 is part of the allocation that would mean the X26 has 2 spares. It may be covering for WVL334 which off for refurbishment.

Saw WVL345 in Kingston today. The official allocation is WVL334-345 (10 buses plus 1 spare). One of your other photos of it with people boarding seems to show a pretty well loaded bus. Obviously don't know if there was a gap or not but looks like the extra seats are being used.

There are a lot more seats now the route has been double decked and seems well used, especially between Kingston and Croydon. Have yet to do the X26 in the direction to Heathrow but that is something I will be doing this Saturday along with 725DYE The single dooring of these buses will affect it in a way, as passengers can only use one door instead of one in, one out, and as a result when they are single doored, they must not be used on any other routes. However, the MCL's and Scania's previously allocated to the X26 made it out on other routes so I wouldn't bet against it.

There are plenty of Single Door Single Deckers in London so that is probably why it was allowed. All Double Deckers in London are dual door apart from LTs. A Single door bus double decker on a normal double decker service will slow down the service. Wouldn't surprise me if a fine was issued for using them on other services. Shouldn't be a problem on the X26 as it is an express route with only 14 Stops. When I last used it was plenty of running time as the driver waited at like every stop.

Similar but not the same thing but when the 405 was run from CY a few years back, from time to time, they'd throw out single door provincial buses on the route. I snapped Caetano Nimbus 369 on the 405: flic.kr/p/cWmre5flic.kr/p/cWmrJjflic.kr/p/cWms3q
