The latest LOTS publication mentions that LTs at Go Ahead, Arriva and possibly other operators are in a paced process of moving LTs around so that the age of buses match expiry dates of route contracts.

Roughly how out of sync are the LTs to tenders they run on? The 38 for example has LTs in the 200s but starts a new contract this year. Would they go to the extreme to move all the oldest buses to the route that will lose LTs first? Seems a bit of a waste considering all the buses are being refurbished in the next few years and will all end contracts around 2029 to 2030?

I would guess for example the oldest ones would be rotated onto contracts commencing this year and so forth so that they are within the 15-year age standard
