Further details on the extension of the P5 are currently being consulted on image source TfL consultation pageConsultation pageI assume they are consulting 3-4 years in advance because they know the loss of parking spaces that is proposed will be hugely controversial and will mire the proposal in a never ending row. Alternatively there may be no money for expansion until after 2020? Given how short the proposed extension is I wonder why they're bothering. Pity the local road layout is so abysmal that other options are not available.

I wonder if longer buses (10.2m/10.4m) would be introduced if they're expecting extra demand?

Finally, this idea has popped up as a consultation - gets my full support. I wonder if longer buses (10.2m/10.4m) would be introduced if they're expecting extra demand? I too support this extension as i think it will encourage those that live in areas like Brixton, Clapham and Stockwell to seek employment in Battersea development. I think the new Battersea station could be a big draw to the Patmore Estate residents thus boosting P5 extension usage. Hopefully the road layout allows good interchange to the trains. I don't think the introduction of the 10.2/4m SDs will come before the next tender 2021/23.

I also agree with this one, a short but very useful extension.

Wow that's rare, more people say "no" than "yes" and TfL actually listens! Then again let's watch them use the same tactics as with 13/82 (this time I'm for it though)

I was going to say the same thing. The 315 also was an extension not a reduction to the service so again if not much interest in it why spend more on the route.

Shame to hear given it’s actually a very good idea, would like to know who is against the proposal and who is for it.

I've not looked at the reports yet but I suspect the impact on local parking spaces and reopening a link road were significant issues for those living nearby. It is also worth noting that proposals to alter Battersea Park Road and add cycle lanes ran in parallel with this change. TfL are intending to go ahead with the other highway changes but not until 2020/21 (assuming some money lands in the budget by then).
