Walked around Beckton Park and Royal Wharf today- saw 2 474s in a row go over Connaught Bridge completely empty! Royal Wharf does seem like it has a bit of a buzz, good selection of amenities and a nice self-sufficient community feel. Couldn’t see any evidence of the 241 stand (even under construction)- maybe I wasn’t looking in the right place. The 474 has picked up a bit over the Keir Hardie section but it’s not great! The empty 474s on that section over the bridge shows just how empty the 241 will be when it’s extended. The funny thing is the 330 is providing popular over its extension and probably ends up dumping passengers who want to head towards North Woolwich or Beckton but TfL disagrees.

Just reading your post again and you mention Beckton Park so wondering did you mean the new Royal Albert Development? This is large new development opposite the airport which is sitting empty and where the 325 is mean to be extended at some point in the suture..

No I walked through the park then crossed the Connaught Bridge and went to a pub at Royal Wharf. Royal Albert in general (the area itself) is pretty dead so walked straight through.

I was passing Canning Town station around 6.30pm last night and noticed just how busy buses still are departing the station towards Plaistow. I spotted a full 115 and 5 within a minute of each other. There doesn’t seem to have been a huge shift to the Elizabeth Line. Guessing Canning Town being a zone 2/3 station plays a factor especially for low pay workers.

I think that makes a difference for sure It’s similar across the river where you may as well as take the bus to North Greenwich (zone 2/3) vs woolwich in zone 4.

I don't know to post here but when is the next bit of the Elizabeth Line to open like to Staford bit TfL haven’t announced any date, but the TfL Board papers are saying before end of 2022, they have also said 16 weeks notice is required (but that is probably an internal thing, when they consider it ready). It has also been reported in the Board papers that Bond Street will open same date. The smart money is on mid November to early December

Whether these are for trial running ahead of a possible opening on Monday 31st October, I do not know.

Whether these are for trial running ahead of a possible opening on Monday 31st October, I do not know. I think they wanted to check out the through running, signalling transitions before committing to an opening date. Don’t think it was faultless with software, and a manual intervention was sometimes needed, probably got (yet another) version of software to try and fix the bug filled version. However rail strikes are now scheduled so remains to be seen if the tests get successfully passed. I think I have read the October closure is to try and get the auto reverse at Westbourne Park to work, another system where software development was started far too late, so a tested fault free system is still not available. Without it service is limited to 22 trains per hour, but was supposed to be 24tph on opening (with 30tph capability). As per attached link, the through running is possible with current Network rail timetable, but full service would only occur when National timetables change in May 2023 board.tfl.gov.uk/documents/s18355/board-20220727-item06-Elizabeth-line-update.pdf

Londonbusroutes.net has the 3rd of September as a provisional date for the 241 extension to Royal Wharf. TfL were aiming to get this done by the summer so this makes sense and right after holidays end too.
