Schoolkids were vandalising them so went and replaced it with VLAs ... they had 2. One of them got sold via Ensign I think It was actually sold by Odyssey Bus Sales, where this one was also for sale, however this one just failed at being sold there so finally went to Ensign instead. YX66WLJ (The other one) ended up with Yelloway Coaches, where it is now registered M90YEL.

Looks like Ensign have sold or gave up their Brentwood operations which is a shame . Interesting. They've rejigged them a few times but clearly they are not making enough of a return for Ensign. The livening up of dead runs as an express to / from Lakeside was clever but obviously not enough "bums on seats" to justify the service level. I had thought at one point that they might manage to oust First from Brentwood but clearly I was wrong.

Me too looks like First "upped the ante" though on Route 37 it has another timetable change from Monday I believe , and I think they reduced their fares on it too a while back , Hard times in the Industry everywhere these days especially for Independents trying to take on the Big Guns .

Certainly seems a shame, but there is no point carrying on at a loss.
Stephensons is a quality operator, so they are in fairly good hands. I'm surprised they are continuing the 37 though!

The 37 won't be included as I first thought then, which isn't surprising. A shame as I was hoping the 37 would help kick First off the 31.

Good news. Southend Airport has some late flight arrivals and early flight departures that are not catered for by the train service. The Jetlink X1 service starts on Saturday 8th June and will have one journey each way: 23.40 from Southend Airport and 03.05 from Victoria (Grosvenor Gardens). Intermediate stops at Lakeside Bus Station, Canning Town Station and Embankment Station. Fare is £15 (£10 child).

I hope the new Jetlink service is a success but do wonder what passengers are meant to do once in Canning Town for example once trains have stopped running unless its assumed they will use Night buses etc.

On weeknights I suppose they may as well stop there given it won't add very much to the running time, and it's not a bad place to interchange with night buses as you say.
