Great to see that Ensign have made the cover of the latest Buses magazine, with their route 68 Southend open-top service. Something positive from this generally awful year.

Open topper 392 MBF, which had been on the 68 over the summer, also featured in the League of Their Own Christmas Special, in an overall wrap for the show.

It's not yet been reported that Ensignbus has been operating a Saturday timetable on Mondays-Fridays since Monday 4th January, with some additional early morning journeys on routes 33, 44, 73 and 88. The company says this is due a large amount of staff absence due to self-isolation, and will continue until further notice. Normal weekend timetables continue to operate. www.ensignbus.com/

Expect B7TL's (101/2/3/9/10) to be withdrawn from Fleet by the end of today, Expect 7 'unexpected' vehicles to enter fleet that will be replacing them, no idea on fleet numbers yet but expect my username to change, will keep you updated but I'd keep an eye on our social media for when things are public

They will be numbered 161-167 and carry LX21 xxx registrations (two did receive '69' registrations but are SORN and may be reregistered). Source: groups.google.com/g/londonstransport/c/BY-aKaCzmzw

Have Ensign upgraded some buses, or will some be banned from entering LEZ when it goes live in 2 weeks (anyone know what is not LEZ compliant, possibly the 13 year old Olympus)

Must have been lucrative as 7 brand new buses for less than £200K each

As much as I love Ensign and think the livery looks fantastic on anything it's painted on to, I can't help thinking the low-height Streetdeck looks like something has sat on it to squash it

Registrations for the new Wright Streetdecks. They will be registered with 21 marks on 1st March and it is intended to have at least two in service on the first day.
161 - LX21 CHH 162 - LX21 CHJ 163 - LX21 CHK 164 - LX21 CHL 165 - LX21 CHN 166 - LX21 CHO 167 - LX21 CHV
165 and 166 were originally given the registrations SN69 ZWW/ZWT in September 2019 but never left the factory and were shown as SORN.

I hope these actually have the correct power for the work they're intended to do unlike other Streetdecks which are under powered especially the 12X ones in Brighton with the steep hills across the Downs it climbs.

I suspect they will be OK even if they are only 4-cylinder. South Essex and East London aren't particularly hilly.
