Very random but does anyone know how buses turn around at Pratts Bottom in the event of disruption? Do they just reverse into a side road or an access road (such as Hillside Farm) and then return from where they came from? Snow events on the R5/R10 tend to see slightly different operating conditions every time. On the occasion quoted I seem to recall we were not using Cudham Lane or Rushmore Hill at all. Therefore, regardless of whether or not we were an R5 or R10 we were going from Green Street Green, along the A21, circumnavigating the roundabout at Pratts Bottom and returning back to Orpington. For my part, if I happened to have people on then I was serving the Pratts Bottom stop then reversing into the side road to turn around. This had the helpful side effect of being able to wait somewhere safe to wait for my time I miss doing the R5/R10 - always fun when something unexpected happened and great craic with a wonderful group of punters Thanks So the route was essentially Orpington - Green Street Green - Pratts Bottom Roundabout (the one where the Esso is right?) - Green Street Green - Orpington OR go down to Pratts Bottom if there were passengers, then do Green Street Green - OrpingtonSeems like a very shortened version of the route lol Also another question, is Hillside Farm a stop? I do usually get a car ride if I'm there, however would like to make sure that I can catch the bus from the end of the access road/Rushmore Hill, rather than see the R5/R10 just whizzing past

I used to serve the stop opposite the petrol station and use the side road next to the stop to turn around. Anyone who wanted the village was happy enough with that. It was a shortened version of the route but at that point it was all that could safely be achieved - the roads were simply too treacherous Yep, it’s Hail and Ride all the way up Rushmore Hill and Hillside Farm is (or was!) a relatively popular ‘stop.’ Just make sure you’re there in good time to flag the bus down and if it’s dark use your mobile phone torch to let the driver know you’re there. I certainly appreciated punters using a torch like that to let me know they were there - gets very dark out that way!

Anyone else seen the weather forecast for Friday Might be sleet, but some evaporative cooling could cause some snow Yes, snowman thinking about snow..... Doubt it, snowman not going to get snow, more possibility in the north of the country, in London, nothing. I would not even bet on a white Christmas, won't be happening. Tommorow morning now we should be getting some kind of snow in London.

Had snow in Wiltshire too, about 5-7cm
Did an essential journey, there are plenty of hills around here, and even on the lanes no problems with the hills, as have 3PMSF rated tyres. Even drove up a snow covered 1 in 10 hill. Plenty of delivery trucks and vans operating.
Some people in cars were stuck, but they had summer tyres.
