Excellent news, the extra capacity provided by the 345s will be much appreciated as those 5-car 360s get so overcrowded.

In the latest TFL Board paper, it highlights some interesting movements expected to take place, listed on Section 4.1, Page 26. content.tfl.gov.uk/board-20200602-agenda-and-papers-public.pdfIt would appear they could be trying to lower the amount of Class 315s in service, maybe even replace the remaining stock should there be enough to do so.

There’s more than enough 345’s in storage at Old Oak Common and in Worksop so if they wanted to they can easily replace the remaining 315’s

It has now been announced that platforms 16 and 17 will be altered for 9car class 345s over Christmas (and closing 18th platform). At same time work will be undertaken at Stratford to make the overhead wires more resilient in hot weather.
I suspect this means some trains will need to be diverted to Whitechapel or Liverpool Street Crossrail (even if having to run empty), or service will need to be cut as Liverpool Street (main station) will then have less capacity.

Are the 315's cheaper to run why they have not been replaced

A lot of the knitting is still the original 1960s stuff in Stratford, it's been done in places rather than most of the GEML. On the West Anglia Lines there are frequent dewirements (a 315 lost it's pantograph on the Enfield line a couple of weeks ago), as the lines haven't been touched for years (apart from White Hart Lane, where there's a new station, with new OHLE)

It appears a 5 week blockade will take place in August
Trial running will be suspended, with the aim of finishing all the incomplete construction.
Bond Street is likely to still be incomplete, but contractor was fired in June and an in house team is taking over
Trial running will then commence in the Autumn

Further delays to the Elizabeth Line Summer 2021 date is now not achievable for the central core section — linkMay 2022 at the earliest according to one of the news channels - sorry I can’t remember which : and that of course assumes covid continues its decline.
