Passed by the Elizabeth Line on the 147 today and noticed a rather funny sight - The Elizabeth Line platforms at Custom House have TfL posters about face coverings must be worn on public transport! Either someone got carried away when doing the DLR platforms or he pandemic restrictions will still be in force when the line opens
Also noticed the Connaught Tunnel site is completely finished and appears to have been handed over to the railway. This was one part of the construction that was still being worked on until recently.

The planned launch date for the opening of Crossrail will be the 14th May 2022 That's my tweet, wanna stress I'm not confirming anything, merely indicating what the Southall bus paper shows. I know very little about the details of anything! But it's the most detailed date re opening we've so far had. It also matches with a wider NR timetable change pencilled in for that day.....

The first phase of opening though will be a self-contained service between Paddington (Crossrail) and Abbey Wood, so can open independently as it is not date-dependent on any other operator's timetable changes. It is the subsequent stages of opening that will need to be coordinated with NR timetable changes.

I still think it would happen with the December timetable change this year.

I did read somewhere that next spring is when the 427 cut may commence.
