Not sure that 283 has any restrictions now that it no longer crosses Hammersmith Bridge Don't quote but me aren't the roads in White City too tight for it? And it hasn't crossed down to Hammersmith Bridge in a while long before the bridge closure but still no blinds on the bus. I know 33 and 72 in that area can take DD's now though

Can 70 use double decks, does it have any restrictions. I've seen 70 on double deck bus blinds

How comes 112 has stopped using double decks Since it was rerouted via Madeley Road, overhanging trees.

What restriction does the 268 have that prevents it from using DDs

What restriction does the 268 have that prevents it from using DDs Plus Belsize Park to Golders Green is served by the N5 so no problems on that section.

Actually, the person who quoted may be correct as the trees are low at Belsize Village/Square but I think the issue is parking, so double decks or even normal single decks at a high frequency wont be a good idea. If im correct Rail Replacements do not go via the 268 at all but the 168 then 268 from Pilgrim’s Lane

So the 268 should be clear for DDs then. I wonder why DDs never appear on the DDs. Sufficient SDs are available and definitely does not have capacity for DDs anyway its a short local link route. What if one day there weren’t sufficient sds available and there was like a SD shortage at W and the only things available where DDs. What happens to the 268 in that scenario. Capacity is not the only reasons why a DD will show on a route. It is mainly but not always the case. Sometimes DDs are put on routes that are normally allocated with single deckers because they the garage have no choice. I am not asking for a complete conversion of the 268 to DD but I am asking why the odd DD doesn’t go on the 268 due to the fact that there’s no physical restriction preventing a DD from going on the route. I don’t think that the length of a route will stop a route from being DD. The E1 and H14 are both short routes and they both use DDs.
