I’m not a fan ether, nice to spend time with my Nan but other than that just what to get though it. Right now I’m looking forward to going down to TH to see how many are sitting outside the garage this year. |

A very merry Christmas to everyone on this forum! Hope everyone enjoys the festivities and got what they wanted for Christmas!
There may be no buses today but everyone needs at least one day off a year 😂. 2017 has been a very exciting year for buses, so let’s hope 2018 will be another exciting year for buses, and will also bring some interesting tender results, and maybe some new vehicle types!

And most importantly for the forum members in the East and North, the long awaited 123 tender result! We're at least 6-7 months away from that. To be honest I'm not overly bothered about the operator. I am much more concerned about vehicle choice and service levels which may go horribly in the wrong direction. The year the new contract starts is just before a financial year with a massive planned cut (15m kms) to kilomileage so a really, really bad time for a new contract to be specced and awarded. I can see all sorts of things that might be trimmed in a new contract - late buses cut, evening frequencies cut, daytime frequencies cut, weekend night service cut. The other worry is that run times end up being more lax but recovery time at terminals is cut which will be a recipe for a disaster. In short a return to the frankly useless service of the 1980s/90s. |
