Just thought this sort of thread would be a good idea seeing as many companies close these days and can be a place where you list former operators and report when a company has closed. Recently D Jones & Son ceased trading and Regal Busways has also given up its bus work having deregistered or given their routes away, however will retain the coaching side of operations Other companies that have closed in recent years are: GHA Coaches - July 2016 Webberbus - May 2016 Townlink/Olympian/Roadrunner - February 2016 Lewis's Coaches - August 2016 Nippy Bus - October 2017 Utopia Coaches - August 2017 Shamrock - July 2011 Impera - October 2013 Western Greyhound - March 2015 Silcox Coaches - June 2016 These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head and others I've forgot just post them here and also post when another operator closes

2018 will mark 5 years since First London sold their operations, and the entrance of Tower Transit through acquiring some of that work. In addition, 2018 will also see 5 years since the colour of blinds was switched to white

Stansted citylink suddenly stopped operating on the 28th October 2017. This was the service that operates from St Pancras international to Stansted. Comfort Delgro were involved in this operation and was always a decent service. There’s no replacement.

First have now completely left London following surrender of the 702 from Windsor Stansted citylink suddenly stopped operating on the 28th October 2017. I think they would have always had a struggle with that due to traffic in London... by the time the coach reached the M11 from Kings X, you could have been halfway through the journey by train from Liverpool Street

First have now completely left London following surrender of the 702 from Windsor We still have First Berkshire route 3 that enters Uxbridge. However given the state of that division, that will probably undergo a metamorphosis also

The whole of Heathrow Airport is in the London borough of Hillingdon so your absolutely correct.

Local Link in Torbay ceased operating local bus services after 1st April 2017. Most (but not all) of its routes were taken on by another operator, DF Watts trading as Torbay Buses.

Does Epsom Coaches count too, following its demise last June? Remember that Quality Line was a division under Epsom Coaches, with the whole Epsom Coaches group under the entity of RATP. Since the Quality Line name is still a division, just under RATP I would say that it wouldn't count. But as for the coach and holiday services they are gone. Still very sad in my opinion

Still very sad in my opinion As much as it was very sad to see the operation close, from an insider view it was a superb and long overdue decision. The operation was struggling significantly on its own, and the fleet was starting to look a bit tired, with staff demotivated. The lack of success in tenders was also concerning. Therefore, from a business view the restructure made perfect sense and so far is proving brilliantly - management have been on the ground frequently and have been putting the pride back in the operation which is wonderful. Regards The last few months of independent decision making Quality Line were awful. Let's start with one trip I had on the X26, warning lights on everywhere on the dash, driver playing out loud music in the cab. Then one of their Versa's caught fire confirming the fact that they had Awful maintenance practices. Then MCL01 was out in service on the X26 with a chipped side driver window. Here the biggest scandal: The controllers told the driver to go on! Things still aren't great but they are improving at Epsom garage.

I spoke to a Quality Line driver a while back and he said that the general feeling is that the company have overstretched themselves a bit, especially with the X26 contract, and maybe bitten off a bit more than they can chew. Hopefully they'll go from strength to strength under RATP, the drivers are a friendly bunch, and it seems they have made some gains in the Croydon area.
