Going Forward Buses, a CIC (Community Interest Company based in the Wallingford area of Oxfordshire) is temporarily suspending all services from today, Saturday 28th March. They say that loadings have dwindled to a level where continued operation is not financially sustainable.

Xelabus, based in Eastleigh near Southampton, are suspending all of their services. Not permanently though, I believe it’s only temporary due to COVID-19 Yes, as per the operators mentioned immediately prior, and ‘suspended’ rather than ‘withdrawn’, ‘ceased’ or ‘cancelled’.

The Swallow Coach Company of Rainham ceased trading today. They operated the 13 Epping to Waltham Cross, 61 Brentwood to Blackmore, and school route 133 Ongar to Debden. “It is with great sadness that I am to advise you that the Swallow Coach Company will be passed to administrators after the close of business on Tuesday 31st March, 2020.
The last day of operation on our contracted services 13, 61 and 133 will be the same date. For updates on these routes please contact Essex County Council Passenger Transport Team.
This decision was not taken lightly, however given the current situation with Coronavirus and the renewal of our insurances due on 1st April, we feel that the decision to cease trading has been made for us.”

Axe Valley Mini Travel in Seaton, East Devon has "temporarily" suspended its services due to COVID-19 - they certainly were not running yesterday. This means there is no bus route between Seaton and Axminster and several small communities in the area are now without a bus service. EDIT: according to Devon County Council website AVMT services weer suspended from Saturday 28th March,
It remains to be seen if they ever resume business, especially as the owner has been called to appear before the Traffic Commissioner. Transport Minister Grant Shapps has apparently promised supports for the bus industry "soon", but it is probably too late for AVMT and similar small companies.

Sea view coaches in Poole have ceased trading. Their coaches appear to have gone to an auction house in Lincolnshire or to a finance company in Oxfordshire.

Sadly Alexcars Coaches of Cirencester have also ceased trading yesterday according to their Facebook page, with Covid-19 affecting their business amongst other things.

Dan’s Luxury Travel of Waltham Abbey looks to be another recent causality announcing their closure soon.

Also Nova Tours of Chesterfield are another recent casualty of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Wow so to simplify we've seen 7 companies shut down already since the pandemic started: T.J. Walsh of Halifax Nova Tours of Chesterfield Seaview Coaches, Poole Dans Luxury Travel, Waltham Abbey Alexcars of Cirencester Swallows Coaches, Rainham Leasks of Lerwick
Not surprising to see that 4/7 are coach companies, over the last 3 days alone there has been another small coach company announced closed. Coach/tourist bus companies are most definitely hit hardest out of the bus industry - they usually rely on schools, private hire and tourism usually - of which schools are off for the time being and private hire and tourism just isn't possible at this time really.

My understanding is that Leask’s haven’t closed yet - that’s happening in the autumn once the local bus contracts pass to their new operator(s) and what may exist of the tourist season finishes. There are operators around me that have had to lock their gates and furlough all staff until further notice due to the complete lack of income you describe. One can only wish them well.

A shame to hear about all of those, but for me especially Dans Luxury Travel. A regular sight for me when I grew up in Essex, and they took me on school trips too. A well established operator at least 50 years old. Its my understanding that Leasks of Lerwick are due to close anyway, regardless of the virus, as the owner is retiring. Interestingly, this company is 101 years old, and is still in the ownership of the same family.

Jim Stones Coaches has ceased trading based in Leigh, ManchesterJim Stones Coaches was established in 1968 as a charter operator. Upon the bus deregulation in October 1986 the company started bus operations with two routes, 596 from Leigh to Landside and 599 from Leigh to Higher Folds. The company expanded operations by filling the bus network where the larger incumbent operator GM Buses retracted services, as well as winning school and tendered contract services from Transport for Greater Manchester.[1] In January 2020, Jim Stones announced his intention to retire with operations ceasing on 18 April 2020.[2][3][4] Diamond North West, Vision Bus and Warrington's Own Buses took over the services.[5]
