Not quite a "ceased company" as it is retaining its coach operations, but Johnson's of Henley-in-Arden is to sell off its Excelbus operations to Diamond Bus, a subsidiary of Rotala. Routes operated include the X20 between Stretford-upon-Avon and Solihull, 150 between Redditch and Birmingham, and Stratford-upon-Avon Park & Ride.
Drivers and vehicles will move to Diamond West Midlands' Redditch Depot. Vehicles transferring include two Optare Solos, four Scania OmniLinks, four Optare Tempos, seven Enviro200s and two Optare Metrodeckers. The deam is expected to be completed on 29th May.
Johnson's will continue its holiday, excursion and private hire coach businlss with around 45 vehicles.

Birminghams variety is shrinking by the minute

Another not quite a "ceased company". Seaview Services on the Isle of Wight has been sold to Eastleigh-based Xelabus. Although the company has its own Xelacoach brand it is understood the Seaview name will be retained for the Isle of Wight operation and the current manager will continue in post.

Again not quite a ceased company, but Isle Coaches of Owston Ferry, North Lincolnshire, ceased their 291 service to Doncaster Interchange and 399 service to Scunthorpe after Saturday 11th June. Stagecoach and Hornsby's have registered replacement journeys with support from North Lincolnshire Council. The services linked villages on the sparsely-populated Isle of Axholme (home of the National Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft) and had been in operated by Isle Coaches for 100 years, according to the Doncaster Free Press. www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/news/transport/end-of-an-era-as-doncaster-bus-service-comes-to-an-end-after-100-years-3728642

Most of the acquired routes are to be withdrawn during July and August, a move which is being attributed to the ending of council contracts. Diamond's operation has been patchy since the takeover and the company recently issued an apology for poor performance.

Already reported in this thread but included here for completeness: tangytango.proboards.com/post/705917/threadYellow Buses of Bournemouth went into administration on 29th July. Although National Express has bought out the coaching operation, no buyer has been found for the local bus operation and services will cease after Thursday 4th August. Go-Ahead South Coast company More Bus is mounting a rescue operation, and from Saturday 6th August will operate over a number of core Yellow Buses routes where there is not already an adequate service provided by More Bus. Yellow Bus drivers are being invited to join More Bus, with recruitment sessions being held at a local hotel on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th and an enhanced bonus for drivers who are able to start work with More Bus immediately. More Bus is acquiring its own vehicles to operate the extra services, including fifteen brand new ADL Enviro400 MMCs that have been delivered early for Bournemouth University services although these will not necessarily operate the "new" routes.

That’s a shocker. When a company with 120 years history in an affluent area goes under that should be a huge wake up call for the industry. Gutted for the MBO team that no doubt took a risk when buying out from RATP.

Thandi Buses in the West Midlands has ceased operating.
Their route 37 (Walsall - Willlenhall) has been replaced by an emergency shuttle service operated by National Express West Midlands, operating hourly between Walsall and Darlaston only. This commenced on Friday 26th August and will run for 2-3 weeks whilst NXWM works out how to incorporate the service into their own network. The evening and Sunday service is already operated by NXWM and will not change.
Their other route, the 334 (Walsall - Bilston) is not being replaced as it largely duplicated NXWM's existing 34 route.
