The new 194 timetable commenced on Sunday 29th August, the Farnborough journeys operate once in the morning and twice in the afternoon on Mondays to Fridays and are mainly for the benefit of students at Farnborough College and Farnborough Sixth Form College, although the journeys still operate when the colleges are closed. The contra-flow journeys also operate in service. Newly-refurbished ADL Enviro400 MMCs have been painted in a dedicated red livery for the route, including 797 - photo (not mine): flic.kr/p/2mkpA3S

Reading Buses, like TfL, have decided to remove the controversial Channel 4 Naked Attraction adverts that have been criticised for sexualising passengers. Unlike TfL though, Reading Buses say they did not wish the adverts to be placed on their buses in the first place, but it had been done anyway. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-58350075

Reading Buses is making a few changes to timetables from Tuesday 31st August. Lion 4/X4 will have a new timetable on all days of the week.
<snip> From 31st August, Thames Valley Buses is operating three vehicles on the lion 4/X4 from its Bracknell depot (hence the new timetable). 1204* has transferred in from Newbury and District and is due to receive vinyls with an allover ad for the Reading Buses app on its base black livery. Lion-liveried 1210/1211** will also transfer in from Reading Buses, although initially generic-liveried 219 and 1201 were transferred temporarily - 1210 arrived in Bracknell on 2nd September and 1201 has returned to Reading. *1204 has actually been at Bracknell since 24th July for the Green Line 701 summer holiday extras between London Victoria and Legoland Windsor, although until 30th August it was classified as a loan. It was joined by 1205, and later by 1206 which arrived on 1st August. 1205/6 returned to Newbury on 1st September. ** 1210/1211 were acquired second-hand from University of Portsmouth in 2015 and are diesel vehicles, unlike the other lion-liveried vehicles which are still hybrid-powered. Thames Valley Buses does not operate any hybrids which may explain why these two were transferred. Source: Bus Zone Forum, Google groups

<snip> I have not seen any 'Royal Blue 33' buses on the road in my last few visits to Reading - I think they may still be de-licensed. I now have an answer to this - 701-705 (and 700) are all off the road awaiting attention from Scania for a warranty issue, which affects these six vehicles only. I got this information directly from the CEO.

I made an account before the 12th but haven't got the free ticket thus far today, hopefully I'll get some sort of notification later on.

Don't have numbers to quote, but have noticed a few odd workings on the 'Lion' 4 / X4 this last couple of weeks - full Newbury and District livery and Thames Valley d/d more than once, and one generic single decker last Saturday.

Now that three vehicle workings on the Lion 4/X4 are operated by Thames Valley from Bracknell it is inevitable that buses in their generic livery will appear from time to time. Newbury & District 1204 has now transferred permanently to Bracknell, and is due to receive an allover advertising wrap for the Reading Buses app.. It will probably become part of the regular allocation to the 4/X4 alongside lion-liveried 1210/1211 which have transferred from Reading to Bracknell.

Abbey Travel of Erith have a new E400mmc in white SK71CKN (reg may not be correct) This is in the wrong thread - perhaps you intended it for the 71-registrations one?

The postponed 2021 Reading Half-Marathon takes place this Sunday, 7th November. Extensive road closures in Central, South and West Reading will mean service changes between around 7am to 2pm, with some routes suspended completely for the duration. Free shuttle buses will operate at frequent intervals between Reading Station South Interchange and Madejski Stadium, where the Start/Finish Line and Event Village will be located. Shuttle Buses will also operate from Shinfield Park and Mereoak Park & Ride for participants who have pre-booked parking at those locations. www.reading-buses.co.uk/reading-half-marathon-2021www.reading-buses.co.uk/reading-half-marathon-shuttles-2021

One of the cancelled order of Optare Metrodeckers for GreenLine 702 has turned up with Centaur Coaches and is being used on the University of Greenwich shuttle. Registered YJ21 FDD, it has entered service still in its GreenLine base colours. Photo (not mine): flic.kr/p/2mn2hrw
