Storm Eunice: Reading Buses services are operating well, although there may be delays to jetblack 1 (Reading-Newbury) as Reading Buses is instructing drivers to operate at a lower maximum speed along the A4. Route 21a is not operating as the University is closed today, route 21 is operating normally. I noticed Greenline buses have been diverted onto the A4 instead of the M4 too! Good observation - thanks for sharing! Reading Buses probably didn't want the double deckers on the elevated section of the M4 in the high winds. Oxford Tube was suspended apparently between 10.00 and 15.00.

Reading Buses Enviro400 no. 205 has had its electric driveline rebuilt at Magtec, and will undergo futher trials in service. It retains the old version of yellow 26 livery.
Gas-powered Scania/ADL Enviro400 City no. 707, which was painted into generic livery in 2019, now carries adverts for the 2022 Charity of the Year "New Beginnings" - these are restricted to the advertising panels only. Enviro400 1202 is retaining for now its allover wrap for the previous Charity of the Year, "Sport in Mind".
ADL Enviro400 MMC no. 758, the Platinum Jubilee bus, was launched on 6th February coinciding with the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth's accession to the Monarchy. It is planned to use the vehicle on Green Line 702 as well as on Reading local services.
Talking of Green Line, former Vodafone ADL Enviro400 MMC no. 781 reentered service in its new Green Line livery on 21st February. 782 is still red but will follow shortly. These are at Thames Valley Buses in Bracknell so will operate the 703.

In a funding deal with Wokingham Borough Council, Reading Buses route 7 (the tiger) will be restored between Reading and Riseley from Monday 14th March. The section between Riseley and Fleet will remain suspended, due to the long-term roadworks.
Wokingham Borough Council has also provided extra funding to keep the Thames Valley Park & Ride service 400 going until at least May - the previous funding agreement ran out at the end of February. The service is a temporary replacement for the Winnersh Triangle Park & Ride site which is currently undergoing reconstruction to provide additional parking space. Passengers travelling to workplaces at Winnersh Triangle can use the lion 4/X4 as an alternative, the Cavendish Gardens stops are a few minutes' walk away.
Meanwhile the company's Management Accountant, Sharmila Perera, has been commended for her work on managing Covid-19 Bus Service Support Grant (CBSSG) reconciliation submissions over the past 18 months and for devising a system that took a lot of the manual work out of the process.

Further service reductions from 4 April, mainly seeming to affect the 4/X4, 21/21a, and removal of the weekend night 13. And current 'temporary' reductions on what was the Greenwave network to continue. Some changes to 1 and 2 / 2a and 33 - no obvious major change to these unless the new timetables manage to take a peak bus out.
Unusual working this afternoon - double decker 233 on route 42 in place of what's usually the smallest bus in the fleet.

It looks like the extra route 21 night journeys which run on Fridays and Saturdays during term time are discontinued, with a standard hourly frequency on all nights of the week. During the day the 21 is reduced to every 20 minutes with the supplementary term-time route 21a journeys to the University also running every 20 minutes, no doubt a response to much learning moving on-line. The 4/X4 goes to a combined 20-minute frequency on Monday-Saturday daytimes with one of the X4 journeys each hour removed,

Following the reduction in frequency of routes 4/X4 from 4th April (4 to 3 bph), the Thames Valley Buses workings on these routes have been discontinued. Lion-liveried diesel Enviro400s 1210 and 1211 returned to Reading Buses during the evening of 3rd April. Similar 1212 and 1214, which were in Green Line livery for route 703, have been sold to Lynx.
Ex-Stagecoach South (and originally Stagecoach South West) Trident/ALX400s 536 and 537 have been withdrawn following the 4th April service reductions and will be advertised for sale. Scania OmniCitys 1108 and 1109 are also withdrawn and have been sold to PC Coaches who are expected to pick them up in the next couple of weeks.
The CNG-powered Scania/Enviro400 MMCs 700-705 are finally undergoing warranty work by Scania. 705 will re-enter service shortly.
Former hybrid ADL Enviro400H hybrid 205 has had an overhaul of its Magtec electric system and has re-entered service. It has not been repainted and still carries the original yellow 26 livery.
Thames Valley Buses is to receive two brand-new ADL Enviro200 MMCs (B43F) for route 194. These have arrived in Reading in two-tone base red and are awaiting vinyls.
