Saw all those shops yesterday ... wondered what had happened in St George's Walk ... Now I know ... Cheers!

driveumad nice pics, I've noticed that part of Croydon is very popular with filming companies - even a movie used that same part of Croydon as a set for a Turkish town en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Assassin - that's the movie with Croydon pretending to be a Turkish town

A reminder of when WH Smith was a shop worth visiting. I saw a snap of the mocked up shop on Twitter but didn't know they'd done others as well.

Would be nice if they brought back a few of Croydon's old street lights. lol To think if filming was done around three years earlier along the nearby High Street the 1950/60s lamps would have been ideal, especially if there were any night scenes. Nevertheless, will be interesting to see the finished production.
I wonder if more retro buses will be brought in for scenes, perhaps a DMS or Metro.

And there's me thinking St George's Walk still looked like that! If Westfield actually gets built, you'll have plenty more empty shops to choose from to recreate halcyon days. Where's Dennis Waterman?!
