Falcon Coaches have acquired a youthful trio of short white Enviro 200MMCs - YX19 ONL/M/N. They've each entered service this week, primarily on the 28/73. Short MMC YX68 UJP has lost its route 461 branding, while long MMC YX18 KNN has gained route 461 branding.

Boring random 715 post : I’m on the 19:35 Cobham to Kingston - one of the new evening journeys. It’s a random Wednesday evening and the journey is a popular one. Very wise decision to add evening journeys.

Good to see a route thriving Stagecoach have done a fine job with the 715 : from the dark days of latter day Abellio and their staggered mega low frequency 515, the transformation is remarkable. At current rates of patronage, it is quite feasible that the route could justify a higher frequency in the M-F peak.

Operate it well and with nice buses at attractive timings and cost people will use buses.

E400MMC 37409 has joined standard E400s 37291/2 and MMC 37408 at Guildford for the 715, transferring from Winchester. Is it converting to deckers now?

Long time since my last post, so I hope everyone is well!
Does anybody know if the P&R service in Guildford is operated commercially by Stagecoach or if it's contracted by the council?
2 out of the 4 routes currently aren't running due to staff shortages, and the ones that are running are regularly cancelled due to vehicle shortages....

It’s an SCC contract awarded to Stagecoach South. Those E200 electrics spend quite a bit of time on the 715 these days - on Monday to Saturday there is more often than not at least one on the route, and occasionally two.

Those E200 electrics spend quite a bit of time on the 715 these days - on Monday to Saturday there is more often than not at least one on the route, and occasionally two. The initial award of the P&R contract to Stagecoach in 2013 was by Surrey County Council (when Arriva lost the 100 and 200 and Safeguard the 300, with the 400 being new), but I believe the operation has been commercially operated by Stagecoach since January 2019? The route registrations seem to back this thought up, with the subsidy status changing from 'Yes' to 'No' at that time also? In regards to the route suspensions, the 400 has been suspended since just after Covid hit due to the Onslow site being used as a drive through Covid PCR testing site. This can be seen in the current Google satellite imagery - www.google.com/maps/@51.2352312,-0.6036567,181m/data=!3m1!1e3

Falcon have applied route 456 (Woking - West Byfleet - Chertsey - Staines) branding to ex-White Bus Enviros YX67 VGJ/K. It is to the same smart, colour-coded design as their ex-Arriva routes 436 (Woking - West Byfleet - Brooklands - Weybridge) and 479 (Epsom - Leatherhead - Bookham - Guildford). Intriguingly though, the branding says "up to every 30 mins" as opposed to the route's hourly frequency. It's unclear at the moment if the route is getting a boost, or the branding will get a modification(!)

There’s a new pan-Surrey bus map on the SCC website, correct to January 2022. For those who like planning bus journeys using REAL BUS MAPS (yes, TfL, I’m looking at you 😂)

After all the praise I’ve heaped on Stagecoach South in recent months, it is very sad to report that the service on the 715 in recent weeks has been shockingly bad. Regular cancellations are now the norm.
