I can't help wondering whether some additional buses will be needed for Southampton shortly.
The buses transferred in to replace ex-First routes are basically quite elderly.

They did indeed, 1713, 1714 and 1716 were all in service on Friday 1st September proudly bearing 73-registrations (HJ73 JJV/JJX/JJZ). The first 28, to be delivered in the next few weeks, are the permanent allocation for flagship routes m1 and m2 which have been double-decked for extra capacity since the collapse of Yellow Buses in August 2022. A further 21 are due in Spring 2024. Southern Vectis is also receiving seven in the Autumn.

Given also the replacement of the entire Oxford City fleet with 104 electrics, the large number of new electrics going into Go-Ahead London and the electrics for The Bee Network (Greater Manchester) there will be plenty of shuffling of older stock between the various Go-Ahead operations over the next year or so.

I therefore anticipate some elderly imports at Southampton being replaced my midlife buses within Go South Coast (if applicable) or double-deckers from Oxford.

I believe those MPDs are now withdrawn/sold, and the route is currently operated by E200s(?), sounds like a pain for the drivers of that route though, but they have fun doing that part of the route Routes I plan to be using the 2, 3 (maybe), 8, 38 & the Island Breezer, so I should get on mainly E400MMCs, an E200 on the 38 and Open top Olympuses or an Omnicity on the island breezer, hopefully the air conditioning is better then some of Londons vehicles Make sure to do the old tube stock - it's the main reason I want to go back to the Isle of Wight having never ridden anything over there. What about the White Tailed Sea Eagles that have been reintroduced that’s a spectacle to behold

The 7 are for Southern Vectis, the 7 DOEs on the island are currently covering for the late arrivals. 'Sneak peek' seen below.

I really don’t know what is stopping TfL running some buses in London on Christmas Day. I’m working , along with many of my colleagues. At least Carlone are running the 442.
