Tally Ho!, based in Kingsbridge but also with a depot in Plympton, have this new Mellor Strata-bodied Mercedes midibus for Devon County Council contracted routes 49 (Plymouth-Heybrook Bay) and 94 (Plymouth-Noss Mayo). The routes, which were taken over from the now-defunct Target Travel in November 2019, are operated with a single vehicle and driver each day. The vehicle is seen in Royal Parade, Plymouth City Centre during the driver's early afternoon break. Tally-Ho local bus by Julian Walker, on Flickr Tally-Ho local bus by Julian Walker, on Flickr

Now that most of the new vehicles for Transport for Cornwall have arrived and entered service, the loaned Scania OmniCitys from Go South Coast (Bluestar and Morebus) have returned home. The ex-Go North East Scania/Wright Solars are still in service in Plymouth but are likely to be withdrawn soon. Also due to be withdrawn in the next few weeks are the last remaining Plaxton Pointer-bodied Dennis Darts. It is thought that the four East Lancs-bodied Scanias acquired a few years ago from Thames Travel may stay in service for now.

I understand too that all First Kernow Enviro 400-MMCs will be back in Cornwall next Spring. Once both operations have settled down I intend to visit the area.

Have heard that Stagecoach gave notice on all Plymouth City Council tendered routes recently being taken over by citybus in the main. This does not leave them with much again in Plymouth. Any ideas if they plan to stay in city long term and if so do they plan any expansion at all?

Lots of rumour and speculation flying around at the moment regarding Stagecoach's operations in Plymouth, I'm waiting for official news.

I can't see it myself but have heard it from several different places My personal opinion is that First have some new college contracts and will be basing a few vehicles in Plymouth, nothing more than that. It appears that coincidentally Stagecoach have deregistered their Plymouth City Council tendered routes (it is standard practice to deregister if you are losing or surrendering a contracted route), people are putting two and two together and coming up with five, six and seven.

It is reported that a number of Brighton & Hove Scanias are coming to Plymouth CityBus to replace older vehicles in the fleet - presumably these will be OmniCitys and are being displaced indirectly by the new ADL Enviro400ER MMCs that are being delivered to B&H for route 1/1A. Yeah probably the case but it still brings me back to my original point . .. after losing or giving up all PCC Contracts what are Stagecoach going to do to make Plymouth worthwhile for them? I mean the few routes they have cant make it profitable for them operating from The Ride surely?

Plymouth still has the 1, 2/2A, 3, Park & Rides and falcon plus a small share of Gold, and is also responsible for the Tavistock and Dartmouth outstations. The PCC contracts don't amount to a lot of work, most are single vehicle operations.
