Have they definitely lost or given up all the Plymouth City Council tenders as haven't seen anything official ? What about city college 36 tender ... are they keeping that one?

Yeah probably the case but it still brings me back to my original point . .. after losing or giving up all PCC Contracts what are Stagecoach going to do to make Plymouth worthwhile for them? I mean the few routes they have cant make it profitable for them operating from The Ride surely? Plymouth still has the 1, 2/2A, 3, Park & Rides and falcon plus a small share of Gold, and is also responsible for the Tavistock and Dartmouth outstations. The PCC contracts don't amount to a lot of work, most are single vehicle operations. While the Dartmouth outstation was purchased from First with the Plymouth operations, it would probably now make more sense to be an outstation of Torquay?

First to buy The Ride in Plymouth as their base for west Devon services, college contracts and rail replacement? Perhaps they take over 1/1a and 2/2a, 36 (this fitting in with education contracts) and park and rides. Stagecoach keep Gold and possibly 3 renting some space at Ride maybe? And operate Falcon still from The Ride... If First have any spare capacity they can concentrate on more lucrative city routes. Tavistock outstation to First and Dartmouth under Torquay with Stagecoach?

Have they definitely lost or given up all the Plymouth City Council tenders as haven't seen anything official ? What about city college 36 tender ... are they keeping that one? It's now confirmed that Plymouth CityBus will take over Plymouth City Council tendered routes 13, 14, 17, 18 and 39 in January, with Oakley's Coaches taking over route 52. Stagecoach retains routes 19 and 31. Routes 17 and 18 will be extended through to the City Centre once again (they currently only provide a local service within Plymstock), but will each run at a lower two-hourly frequency to enable the extended routes to be operated with a single vehicle. Route 18 will serve Nightingale Close instead of Candish Drive. Route 13 is mentioned as continuing "to run morning buses between Barne Barton, St Budeaux and Marine Academy Plymouth, replacing the link previously provided by service 32" which suggests the latter route is withdrawn. Plymouth CityBus will also operate the 54 Bovisand Beach Bus during the 2021 Summer season - this route was last operated in 2019 by the now-defunct Target Travel, it did not operate in 2020. www.plymouth.gov.uk/newsroom/pressreleases/newyearnewbusservices

I am surprised Stagecoach held on to the 19 and 31, not the others, can only assume they make a bit of money? I note now that First are advertising for drivers for their Plymouth operations, full time starting early 2021. The job ad states based at The Ride, Plymouth, but could be a mistake i suppose.

Stagecoach services changes from January 3rd in Plymouth mostly minor but unusually the main one is service 2/2a Cross City service Plymstock- City - Saltash increased from every 15 mins to every 10 mins. This has not had a 10 minute frequency since First pulled out in 2015. It was one of Firsts' flagship routes and one faught over with Citybus. Is this building service up for First return in April I wander? Would be very strange to increase frequency otherwise mid pandemic when passenger numbers are so low!

Go South West has a Christmas Bus! Semi-open topper 469 (LX06 EZE, former Go-Ahead London E30) has been repainted out of its Ocean City Sights livery into Go South West's plain red, and carries dual Plymouth CityBus/Go Cornwall Bus fleetnames. For the Christmas period it has gained festive vinyls and lights, and will tour parts of Cornwall and Plymouth in the run-up to Christmas. Is there any news on Stagecoach plans for it's Plymouth ops in 2021? I have been reading elsewhere drivers being offered jobs with First based in Plymouth, starting February so will be interested to see if this is in addition to or replacing Stagecoach?

Well I got the surprise today. Out for a walk in Torquay I encountered Torbay Buses Optare Solo CV55 BAU apparently working the normal Saturday service on route 64 - and it had a passenger on board. I presume that Torbay Buses took the view that as Boxing Day this year is not a public holiday (as it falls on a Saturday) the normal service would operate. It seems to me Stagecoach are winding down in Plymouth, I will be very surprised if they still operate in or around city by end of 2021, possible exception being Gold and Falcon

I see Stagecoach have been refused planning for depot on land they have been using without planning at Stoke Fleming. It was noted that Stagecoach may not be able to viabily continue to serve South Hams without it. Could this have something to do with current Plymouth situation and see Stagecoach and First return to old operating areas? First back in Plymouth and South Hams, Stagecoach rest of Devon?

Stagecoach 3, 92 and the evening service on the 90 are already supported financially by Devon County Council. If Stagecoach were to close its Dartmouth base the most likely outcome would be that the routes would be retendered and Tally-Ho would pick them up.
