>>> Have the former London route 37 E400s been refurbished with Plymouth moquette? <<< I have to confess - I don't know, I haven't ridden on one yet! They have all been converted to single door and repainted though. A belated response - I can confirm that these still have London moquette. I rode on one on 16th March before lockdown.

Thank you for this update. It seems that Plymouth Citybus have largely standardised on Enviro buses now. If anything, Go Cornwall Bus has more diversity now.

Sixteen 18-reg ADL Enviro200 MMCs that were operated by First Kernow but owned by Cornwall Council are now in store at Plymouth CityBus' Milehouse Depot. They will be repainted into Transport for Cornwall livery and enter service as full timetables are restored. They will be numbered 2000-2015 in the TfC fleet.

An update on how Devon's buses are running during the coronavirus crisis: Stagecoach South West introduced School Holiday timetables on Mondays to Fridays from Monday 23rd March, and went to emergency timetables on Mondays to Saturdays from Monday 30th March. Plymouth CityBus introduced Saturday timetables on Mondays to Fridays from Monday 23rd March. From Sunday 29th March emergency timetables were introduced on all days, including across the new Transport for Cornwall network which commenced on that day. Country Bus, Dartline, Torbay Buses and Tally Ho! are all trying to operate normal services, Tally Ho! route 164 (Totnes-Kingsbridge) is on a Saturday timetable. Taw & Torridge is not operating any of its bus services. Axe Valley Mini Travel suspended its services 52, 885 and 899 from Saturday 28th March. This means there is currently no bus link between Seaton and Axminster and a number of villages in East Devon have been left without a bus service. A further update: Plymouth CityBus and Stagecoach South West made some tweaks to their emergency timetables from Sunday 5th April. In response to feedback PCB is now ensuring that all journeys on routes 34, 42/42A/42C and 50/51, which all serve the main Derriford Hospital, are operated with double-deck buses to allow for social distancing. Stagecoach's Falcon coach service between Plymouth and Bristol was suspended after Sunday 5th April. Needless to say the proposed service changes for Torbay were put on hold and the open-top 122 is not running for now. In the same area, Rail River Link 100 between Paignton and Totnes is not operating. Oakley's Coaches is running a reduced service on its four Dartmoor routes 55, 56, 59 and 98. All Community Buses have been suspended. First is operating a very limited service between Axminster and Bridport, a couple of journeys through to Dorchester were reinstated from 5th April. Buses of Somerset is operating a reduced service on routes 22 (Taunton-Tiverton) and 30 (Taunton-Axminster).

It's been a quiet few weeks since I last posted. Both Stagecoach and Plymouth CityBus have made minor tweaks to their emergency timetables to add additional or retimed journeys for key workers. Plymouth CityBus adjusted the running times on a few routes to reflect the lack of traffic on the roads, and as of today (Monday 18th May) has increased its flagship "Spark" 21/21A to operate every 15 minutes.
Stagecoach's adoption of what is essentially the Sunday timetable means that there are some surprising gaps in its coverage; for instance route 3 is not running between Kingsbridge and Plymouth, there is no 155 service between Tiverton and South Molton and the 319 between Barnstaple and Hartland has no service at all. Plymouth CityBus has adopted the Saturday timetable where routes do not have a Sunday service.
My statement about all Community Buses being suspended was not quite correct, as Newton Abbot Community Transport has been operating a normal service. Also Dorset Community Transport has been operating its route 688 into Axminster.
Redwood's had suspended services in March but by 14th April were back with a normal service. Carmel Coaches have been operating a normal service throughout. Hatch Green has limited services in the Seaton area.

Does anyone know if Stagecoach plans as per their consultation for Plymouth area due to start thus week are to be implemented as part of their new timetables next week? Thinking particularly of park and ride 101 operating via Mutley instead of Milehouse and X38 terminating at Ivybridge?

Stagecoach are still operating their temporary Covid-19 timetables this week so no route changes have occurred yet.

Yes sorry I worded that terribly. What o meant to say was will they be implementing the planned 24th May changes when they increase their services in June? I note 101 for example was due to be re routed via Mutley to and from Derriford Hospital and George instead of Milehouse?

I don't know if those changes will be implemented at that stage, we will have to wait for details from Stagecoach. I suspect they won't though.

Country Bus has taken over the Devon County Council contracts for routes 178 (Newton Abbot - Okehampton) and 186 (Dawlish town service) from Dartline from Tuesday 26th May. Both operators have provided a full service (apart from school buses) during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Plymouth CityBus is increasing its levels of service from Sunday 31st May. Around 80% of the pre-Covid-19 service will operate, with routes serving Derriford and Mount Gould Hospitals running a full service again. There are some slight route changes affecting routes 35/35A, 40/41 and 61/62, with a new 35B operating the opposite way round Beacon Park to the 35A and the 40/41 becoming a circular service around Southway. c
As Transport for Cornwall will also be operating increased services from 31st May, loaned vehicles from other Go-Ahead companies will start to appear in service in Plymouth so that CityBus E400s can be loaned to TfC.
Stagecoach South West were planning to increase services from Monday 1st June, but appear to have postponed that for two weeks. It has been suggested that the delay is due to insufficient DfT funding.

Stagecoach South West has confirmed on its website that most services will increase in frequency from Monday 15th June, and in many cases the normal school holiday timetable will be reintroduced. There are also some permanent service alterations in Exeter that will be introduced from the same date: B/2B - will be revised to operate between Exeter Bus Station and Exminster/Dawlish. All journeys will call at Matford Park & Ride. Union Road & Prince Charles Road will served by route F1. D - withdrawn between St Luke's College and Digby (H1/H2 provides a partial replacement) - although this route will remain suspended whilst Exeter University is closed. E/F1/F2 - routes restructured and split in City Centre. Routes E1/E2 will operate between South Street and the Exwick loop. Route F1 will be rerouted via Union Road and Prince Charles Road to replace route B/2B, and will operate first round the Lancelot Road loop then on to Savoy Hill before returning to the City Centre direct. Route F2 will operate Sidwell Street - Summerway. H - One Digby journey per hour rerouted via Pynes Hill (as route H2) to replace part of route D - the other journey per hour via Broadfields numbered H1. Additional buses operate between St David's Station and Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (as route H) to provide a 15-minute service over this section. K - revised to run between City Centre (Sidwell Street) and Tithebarn Green/Science Park only, via Pinhoe Road direct. Whipton Barton and Countess Wear are served by route I/J. L - revised to run between City Centre (Fore Street) and Pinhoe only. Crossmead is served by route P. In Plymouth, route X38 will revert to its previous timetable and curtailment to Ivybridge will not take place at this time. Route 101 will continue to operate via Milehouse. Seasonal routes 95 (Exmouth), 122 (Torbay), 222 (Dawlish), night routes N12, N21, N57, routes D (Exeter University), 36 (Plymouth City College), 91 (Dartmouth Park & Ride), and dedicated school and college buses will not operate until further notice. Also route 18A will not operate, but route 18 will continue to operate hourly between Kingswear and Brixham and Country Bus route 15 operates between Brixham and Summercourt. www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/south-west/covid-19-timetables
