Really consultations are just ways of advertising planned changes but unfortunately don't reach enough people or often the actual passengers of the route.
I did answer the consultation and said I didn't support the 48 due to lack Hackney to Lpool St link and loss of capacity on Lea Bridge Road. I also didn't support the 3 and 53 and stated reason being it would render the northern sections of each route much less attractive due to falling short of major destinations.
I did support the 19 and 171 thou due to what I felt was sufficient capacity.

So I did a very scientific survey today, a walk down Lea Bridge Road this morning before the heavens opened from the Bakers Arms to Lea Bridge station, about 10am. In that time, ONE bus passed me heading into town. Yes one in about 20-25 minutes. It’s no wonder that people are moaning that they can’t get on buses. The congestion on Lea Bridge Road is an absoloute joke. I support schemes encouraging cycling in principle, but the congestion along there is abhorrent. I've previously been on a 48 which took half an hour just to get from Baker's Arms to Lea Bridge Station - where I bailed to get GA instead.

Its a joke, the bus lane where it was needed was taken out on the eastbound, then now even further reduced to nothing. It then has a pointless bus lane going westbound after Lea Valley Ice Centre before Chatsworth Rd, which is so short would do nothing to improve journey times, but would set the bus back by 2 cars as they wouldn't let the bus out. Then there is the banned left and right turn at Chatsworth Rd, a busy junction, that would expect people to go up to Clapton roundabout to circumnavigate to come back around. Would only have people doing plenty u-turns on Lea Bridge Rd or just do the banned turns.

Don't forget the stop at the Bakers Arms on Lea Bridge Road that was moved from a wide section of road to where the bridge is where it's narrower.

Couldn't agree more and you've basically said exactly what I'd say too. Btw you can turn on to Chatsworth Road as the 308 does that turn and plus I've seen cars turn left going westbound. You can actually walk quicker from Lea Bridge Road to WC than taking a bus, unless you use the W19 from the back which is Argall Avenue.

When I was driving my mums car there was a 56 doing a changeover and I couldn't go over it. The road is so bloody narrow and every attempt I made, I had cars coming towards me so gave up.

Talking about Lea Bridge Road, at this rate the whole of London is gonna get screwed with all this cyclist priority. I was on tfl's twitter earlier and London borough of Waltham Forest came up and the works they have done there and they call it 'improvement'. These people have no clue of what mess they have made. Please stop it, just stop it!
The works on Tooley Street have started and apparently the plan is that it will go as far as Cutty Sark. Always running late on the 47s!

TfL has just issued a new consultation for a cycleway in East London and it affects Lea Bridge Road roundabout. Has the following : Buses travelling westbound along the Cycleway to Lower Clapton Road via Lea Bridge Roundabout (48, 55 & 56) are expected to experience a delay of one to two minutes due to changes to the layout and signal operation of the roundabout. consultations.tfl.gov.uk/cycling/lea-bridge-to-dalston/so the 48 is expected to be delayed . . . what 48 ? Just another mess... what I noticed on the 56s is that the worst is from Whipps Cross to Clapton and from Clapton to Barts it's not as bad as Lea Bridge Road, now Clapton is gonna get screwed.

It seems that the Route 159 will be returning in Marble Arch next week.
It seems that passengers have managed well with the long term Route 12 and Route 159 curtailments. Route 453 has been busier, however it has managed.
What outstanding changes are there about routes on Oxford Street apart from Route 159 curtailing?

So, someone falls in front of train yesterday at Oxford Circus. TfL deny result of overcrowding. Figures show Highbury & Islington, Finsbury Park and Oxford Circus are the worst for overcrowding and temporary closing.
Reducing buses in these areas increase people using the tube.
Go figure.

Police said the man at Oxford Circus, which has had to be temporarily closed on occasions going back years, suffered a "medical episode". I think you need to go figure.

The information above was from a BBC1 news report. Who actually proved station closures have increased. Medical episode yes, which could have been brought on by overcrowding, hence it being covered by the news. Why do people find it OK to be so rude on this forum. You wouldn't say this to my face would you ?

If accidents like this were happening on a regular basis there may be something in what you say but to the best of my knowledge they are not.

It's exactly what I've been saying for ages - the tube system has been severly overcrowded for a number of years now yet TfL obviously haven't realised this because cutting bus routes certainly won't help the situation nor will it on the trains. Unless you have integrated system between the different parts of public transport, then it all falls down.

Well perhaps you could do some research like the BBC have done , and report back to the group. You used the phrase "go figure" rudely towards an individual. I used it collectively towards a situation. There is a difference.
