I think what TFL should have done is this: 391 kept as it is Current 110 between Hounslow and Richmond, Manor Circus kept but renamed H22, as the route is the H22 after St Margaret's Current H22 renamed 110 as it is the same between Whitton and WMH this would create less confusion, particularly as 391 is kept and the current 110 route in the direction of Hounslow is very misleading, as it goes on the A315 for a long way before it turns off If anything, that creates more confusion not less as the majority of the 110 & H22 routings haven't changed. The 391 also wouldn't of been retained as the point of the proposal was to remove a few bus routes from Manor Circus in Richmond hence the 391 withdrawal, H22 diversion at Twickenham and 493 cutback to Richmond Bus Station You're right about the H22 staying the same. I'm not sure I agree with your disagreement about the 110, I think less than half of the old route has been retained, but if the H22 retains its number then so should the 110.

I do think that the 493 curtailment was necessary, so the 391 needed to go. Had there not been a level crossing at North Sheen they could have sent the 391 onto Manor Road, Sheen Road and then past Richmond station to terminate at Pools on the Park.

That would be the long way round and remove the common stops in Richmond town centre with the 65 towards Kew. However the lack of a bus route from Chiswick town centre to Sheen, Mortlake or Barnes is an issue and no doubt contributes towards congestion on the South Circular. It has been mooted in transport studies since the 1980s when a road tunnel was proposed between Chiswick Roundabout and Barnes Common to bypass Chiswick and Kew Bridges. The 533 bus route is a start but doesn’t serve enough bus stops in Chiswick. Have always thought the 272 should continue from Grove Park over the river to improve local links.

London bus routes states from next Saturday the first stop on the 493 will be George Street rather then the bus station due to not being wheelchair accessible.
I didn't think the 493 would pick up there as the 190, 391 and 419 havent for a few years now..only the 337 does as it lines up with the bus stop.

Are there any regular users or staff on the 110? How reliable has the service been since the Hammersmith extension?

London bus routes states the 490 is having the additional peak hour journeys withdrawn and the PVR back to 16. Clearly the compensation for the H22 withdrawal is being pulled back on. Probably won't be long till the 267 is considered sufficient to West Midd Hosp and the H22 cut to Twickenham.

Probably won't be long till the 267 is considered sufficient to West Midd Hosp and the H22 cut to Twickenham. This isn't the full story. The additional peak journeys on the 490 were introduced as part of a temporary timetable during works on the Great Chertsey Road, with reduced overall frequencies. The service is now reverting to its previous timetable and frequency.

I wonder if the Hammersmith ever got fixed that TfL would ever bring back the original plan in merging the 110 and 419 together.

Doing the 110 a few weeks ago showed how much of a slog it is albeit there was some works and rugby traffic but it took over an hour and a half end to end. Anyway, it did get me thinking - why wasn’t a contra flow bus lane put on King Street in Hammersmith rather than a cycle lane as buses could avoid the traffic on Glenthorne Road
