I have Plenty of favourite routes that have been decent runs 3, 65, 85, 87, 176,113, 13 ( even though there’s no 82 now). My worst route I’ve been on. 25. Well it doesn’t travel more than 10mph. The Fastest section of the route is Aldgate - TCR. !

I quite like the 25 between Mile end and Stratford. It picks up some speed there aswell. The part to Ilford can very much be stopping at every stop.

Surprised that the 61 hasn't had a shout out, especially when it still had the LX56s! Up there with some of the best evening rides I've had, pelting all the way from start to finish on 19135 was a highlight of my evening rides around London in 2018/19.
107 has of course been mentioned, but also the noble 251 deserves some praise. DE20158/159 did the honours and on both times (around 11am on a workday) overtook the 34 I'd been on out by the time we got to Whetstone and flew onwards to Mill Hill.
Closer to home, biased I might be, but a Voith E400 on the 275 from Highams Park to Barkingside is still quite something. I'd recommend starting at Barkingside and connecting to a 212 at Highams Park in the direction of Chingford (shame it's not the VH any more but I am yet to try an Ee on Friday Hill, so others can comment on whether it's still as fun!). Thereon, either 179 or 397 to the Bancroft's School / Epping New Road junction. Then 20 it all the way to up Loughton. 167 back to Barkingside via Chigwell makes for a really fun loop in and out of NE London and Essex. Of course, B'side easily reached from Gants Hill / Ilford by virtue of 128/150/167/169, and Romford with the 247 (another Essex great...).

I've only been on the 61 once, it was from Orpington to Chiselhurst but I have to say that I thought that was an excellent section of the route which was incredibly scenic, I only wish I had been on the route back when it was using Tridents.

Was even more fun under First & the lovely VN's the route had.

I do also like the 275 too, Those Voith Enviros are really nice buses to go on which I quite like the batches that is used on the 275, but that said the 61 reg Hybrids from the 56 are even more fun on the 275 especially coming down Tomswood Hill into Barkingside.
Definitely worth mentioning the 179 & 247 for being really nice scenic routes to go on and the same goes to the 20 since the wonderful E400H Citys was introduced on the route last year.

Oh the E400Hs on Tomswood are even better going UP Tomswood, in my opinion! Agree that an LX61 hybrid would be the better option to catch for the 275. I really enjoyed the ex-48's Scanias during their brief reign 2015-17 on the 275 too. Very spacious towards the rear of the top deck. On the 20 - the Cities are great for the speedy sections. My highlight: descending down High Road hill between Buckhurst and Loughton. When done on a B9 before HCT took over, it brings about the signature B9 squeal (last did this on WVN51, which was just great). But on another occasion, I endured what was probably the scariest assault of any hill I've ever done on a bus, with E55 LX56EUC on the second last day of operation, late evening. That LX56 E400 was a tyrant. The E40H Cities are great, but I'll never forget the ability of an NP driver coined with a Trident E400.

It is difficult to be accurate about what has happened as details are scarce due to coronavirus cuts. What I can say is that it is no longer possible to reach Exeter on the X5. You have to change to Stagecoach but at present the 9A is only going to Seaton. Maybe there is a summer service which could resume when this is over. The rump of the X53 has been divided as well with services X51 and X54 serving Axminster. There are still X53s to Poole but you frequently have to change buses part way. Sorry the details are sketchy.

247 through the Essex countryside and also 370 And 372 to lakeside and the 294 at Noak hill The 247 runs solely within Greater London though I do agree that some of the section within Redbridge (and a small bit of Barking & Dagenham) is nice

Worst: 19, 139, 341 What on earth is wrong with the 139? Nice view of the Thames, then Fleet Street which admittedly used to be a bit slow, Regent St, Oxford St, Baker St, then along Abbey Road through leafy St Johns Wood to West Hampstead, then the nicest part of Finchley Road, what's not to like?
