Somebody really needs to be held accountable for this ridiculous waste of money, it's hard to think of a more inappropriate location!

Poor drivers, oh well the bushes at least will be watered.

You could not make this up. I reckon everyone worked individually in silos. One group created the toilet, another group decided on locations, another group liaised with the Council and advised residents, and yet another group put up the toilet. No one took an overall view as to the suitability of the toilet design and how it would actually look on a residential street.

Aside from the residential issues it's served by 2bph Mon-Sat daytime, nothing evenings or Sunday and it's about half an hour to Orpington where there are toilets. Just how many drivers did they expect to use this facility? Heads really do need to roll. It seems the Petts Wood turdis hasn't gone down too well either, at least it's not in a residential area but there are toilets in the adjacent railway station. www.flickr.com/photos/154741497@N03/45690891355/in/dateposted/

I have to say it is not that bad, having seen the latest photos ... it is on a patch of grass not in front of anyone's property ... seems a case of Kentish NIMBY

There are far busier locations lacking toilet facilities for drivers.

The location was less than ideal, but it wasn't terrible either. For me the big issue wasn't the location, it was that the structure looked completely out of place in the surroundings. A different structure sympathetic to the surroundings might not have been such a problem.

When I saw it on the news, you could barely see it from the person complaining's house. That's not to say that it was necessarily in the right place but there's a lot of exaggeration here.

This issue seems to have got hugely out of proportion.

This issue seems to have got hugely out of proportion. The toilet is completely unnecessary, as I've said there are two buses an hour Mon-Sat daytime, the R2 is about 30 minutes end to end and there are toilets available at Orpington. I don't see what Crossrail has got to do with it. What next, a turdis at Passingford Bridge for the handful of 375 journeys?
