Lunacy. Our roads are among the safest in Europe. We have a problem of slow traffic speeds caused by 20mph speed limits on main roads and inflexible cycling infrastructure. This is absolute nonsense. Could not agree more...

Whilst responding to this nonsense, I had another thought. This blanket speed limit will increase running times of all central London bus routes. Inevitably this will only lead to one place - more frequency reductions and cuts. Which will be seen as a plus in light of the idiotic vision zero policy. I’m done with this mayor.

I know many Labour supporters and it infuriates me how they seem to think Khan is a good mayor. Khan is a lightweight and I could write his achievements as mayor on the back of a a postage stamp. I hope he is no more as mayor come next year

I hope he is no more as mayor come next year You could have written all that three or four years back, substituting the word 'Johnson' for 'Khan', entirely different characters though they undoubtedly are. On that basis, Khan could well be on the way to becoming leader of his party within a smidgin of time. Insert your own imojis according to taste.

20mph speed limits in Southwark and Lewisham have desecrated the bus service. To add them to TfL roads will make it even worse.

Wait till your local routes get the speed assistance technology fitted where they'll be forced to stick to 20mph on those roads - currently seems to be just fitted to a large number of B5LH's

Tbh deep down I feel like TFL actually wants to reduce bus service by probably 30% but politically can't just do it without long and boring process...now that all the routes that go through Lewisham are hugely messed up and even service is hard to achieve they will just open up a new consultation saying ah well look clearly we don't need this many buses since they're stuck in traffic half of the day anyways.

I really think priority measures are the solution for Lewisham. Trying to get a bus through the town centre is very frustrating when you have lots of buses stacked up and lights which only let a handful of vehicles through. Trying to get from Lewis Grove to the High Street is a nightmare, last time I was in Lewisham on the 199, it took 24 minutes to get from the clock tower to station

Rather than reducing limits which ironically increase pollution, a fact that is usually glossed over despite the whole drive towards cleaner air So glad you mentioned this, as I thought one of the things they were supposed to be tackling was pullution and congestion.

consultations.tfl.gov.uk/streets/20/Thought I'd update this, many of you know already! Why bother putting it up for consultation if it's a done deal? Also before doing it thought I'd ask if we should create a thread for 'routes that have 20mph throughout the route'? Thanks
