Are Go Ahead changing their fleet numbering system? That looks like an old First one. I thought theirs was 4 digit, ie 6001? Any changes for London or elsewhere planned? Yes but only from the next batch of ‘new’ buses I wonder if GAL will change the fleetnumbers with any new orders or if this is just Go Ahead outside London?

I rode my first quintet of Go North West buses today. Symbolic timing, as it was this day last year that I found out about GA buying into Manchester!
These were Enviro 400 33844 on route 67. Volvo B5LH 39208 on route 17, Eclipse 69195 on route 41, Enviro 200 4020 on route 52 and Electriv Versa 49921 on Free Bus 1.

Go North west have acquired two new tendered routes from April, these being the 96 and 415. These are scheduled announcements and not as a result of MCT’s pending demise.

As it is, I understand that MCT had lost a chunk of its tendered work, rendering the rest of the operation unviable. The helpful driver I referred to on my final MCT ride was indeed on route 96. I liked the red seats on those Hybrid Solo SRs too.

Ex First Volvo B7RLE 69328 YJ09FWY has been converted into a training bus and renumbered 9003. (NOT my photo - credit to Buses2012)

Some Citaros from Go North East are destined for Go North West to replace ex-First Eclipses.
If there is a long-term reduction to London route 507 and/or 521, some SEe's could convert route 108 and release some more Citaros to Go North West.

Go North East have confirmed the transfer of 5310, 5311, 5312, 5314, 5315, 5316, 5317, 5318 (NK08 MXY/MXZ/MYA/MYC/MYD/MYF/MYG/MZV) and 5320 (NK58 DVW) to Go North West. All will be refurbished at Thorntons. Some featuring new Pink route branding for the cross city Route 41. They join 5305 (NK08 CHN) which is still in Manchester following a number of tests at Go North West.

While I understand that those cascaded from Go North East will be sufficient to replace the final ex-First Manchester Eclipses, Citaros are present in so many GA fleets that the route 358 examples are bound to be useful somewhere within GA even if not Manchester.
