I honestly think this will work in some parts of London. Advertising is key. From what I can understand, the advantage is if your journey would normally involve more than one bus, or you normally take an Uber, then this sort of service is ideal. People will pay £2 extra to avoid waiting twice for a bus, and be dropped off door to door. Will always be cheaper than uber as well. I think the Ealing service should get extended to cover Park Royal and parts of Brentford, basically down to the A4. Add an extra say five or six minibuses, and have them starting at 5am. And what happens to the existing network? Remains. I'm saying I hope it gets extended to cover a wider area.

I'm not sure about the Ealing trial but the Go Sutton one is not as door to door as advertised. For the most part the pick-up points are at TfL bus stops or bus stands. If you don't live near to a stop then it will indeed drop off/pick up by your home but otherwise in mnost places the drivers will collect at a bus stop. Just reflecting on my recent Ikea trip and the driver dropped me down by the B&Q in Valley Park which is a two minute walk from Ikea. On the pick-up the driver collected at Franklin Way, if you know the Croydon Ikea that is a walk across a very busy car park. For me that is fine, I'm young and can dodge cars bolting for spaces but for older people who are using the service I see it as slightly inconvenient. I understand it is more convienient to collect pick-ups in one location but in my experience the Go Sutton is not quite door to door as mentioned when first launched.

The ride I had yesterday was very uber like. Apparently it's very busy when it's raining. From what you've described it would lack appeal If picking up at mainly bus stops. The demand has to encroach into Uber territory for it to work I think.

Not sure if the minibuses can fit through the barriers to access the car park and drop off point?

No but the app could, like Uber, allow you to set a pickup location rather than having to hoof it across a busy car park.

I haven’t used the service so can’t really comment on it but the fact that it will not return means that both the Sutton and Ealing trials weren’t as successful as TfL hoped, or is this purely down to the Pandemic? Shame really as I think these could have done well in Zone 6 areas

Shame really as I think these could have done well in Zone 6 areas I agree its a huge shame as I also think this would have been really useful if it had been rolled out on a wider scale. I wonder if it may be the case that post pandemic TFL don't see the scheme as viable.
