Some strap lines for route marketing:
25: “From rags to riches”: serves poorest boroughs and ends in one of the richest. Also passes through places teaming with fabric shops and ends up in financial services territory.
264: “From the cradle to the grave.....and beyond!” St George’s Hospital, London Cemetary, Croydon.
284: “Lewisham ‘till I die”. Branded to promote route loyalty among Lewisham residents.
386: “The Black Wool Line”. The black sheep of the Woolwich to Blackheath/ Woolwich to Greenwich bus family, it meanders around the borough like a lost sheep. With a good shepherd, it would get you home a lot faster than it does. The 386 constantly lives in the shadow of its sibling the 380 (who is always in and out of prison). That tells you all you need to know about this shady route.

202: The half 75, half 108B line
Since the 202 between Blackheath and Catford used to be the 75 while between Catford and Crystal Palace it used to be the 108B

H13- Start to finish it's quicker to walk Line. Same could apply to the 224 which could also be called the Just Can’t Shake that view of Wembley Stadium line

I've got a few names for the 5, many unpublishable but we'll keep it to the "thank goodness I don't have to get on that any more line"

I think some of the routes serving Thamesmead would have something to say about that
