UPDATE: RIP Wrightbus, entered administration at 11:00. Such a sad day for the industry.
Sort of a very dark irony that the bus that caused all their issues was the order for Route 259, signifying the date of their collapse: 25/9. Such a sad day, let’s hope a buyer can be found at the 11th hour.

I feel like it was unique looking bus at least, SRM could have made something better, but they probably just rushed the design and pushed it out. We’re part of a minority on here unfortunately, not many people like it for whatever reason. It’s a good looking bus, it’s unique to London and tourists like it - as do many, many Londoners although few on here care to admit that. Just because a few enthusiasts on here and elsewhere don’t like it, it’s assumed, we should revert to these plain looking buses that every other d*mn city has, the only uniqueness being, we keep the colour red. Wow.

How was the 259 order the cause of all their issues? I think he was making a joke. Not so much a joke, I’m just a very maths-y/numbers oriented person so it was something I spotted, probably not immediately obvious to some, probably not helped by my wording which could have been better. Just found it a little ironic that Wrightbus vehicles (and more specifically the model that caused them their issues, and even Arriva’s first order of the type) run the route that signifies the date of its collapse (ie 259 meaning 25/9).

Wow. I think your being unfair to us who don't like them especially when these reasons have been laid out time & time again. Your welcome to disagree but to simply say, "for whatever reason" is a tad disrespectful. There are even people on here who like the bus but have also conceded that it has some obvious flaws not found on other vehicles.

The company is producing a Hydrogen powered bus which Unite are describing as a "fully green" vehicle and will be in demand across the world. I presume those are for the 7? If so will be interesting to see what happens now

Oh dear, poor Wrightbus. I'm not a fan of recent Wright products but I have to say its always sad to see a bus manufacturer enter admimistration. This is a great shame, and a tragic day for the bus industry.
I'll be very interested to see what happens next. There's still the oustanding order for two VHs for the 681, plus the 20 Hydrogens for the 7/245, I wonder what will happen next. Also as other have mentioned, there's the issue of existing Wright buses requiring refurbishment, the 24's LTs will probably be refurbished very soon. Additionally, buses built by Wright now can't be sent back for any reason. I have to say though that Wright did shoot themselves in the foot a little, they really needed to improve the G3 around 2018 when Metroline and GAL stopped ordering the G3 however they failed. RIP Wrightbus.
