In my opinion LTs don't even look that old. I'd agree my point of my first post was that the other buses around the HVs look much newer. To be honest I forgot the LTs where the same age as the HVs as it certainly doesn't look like that. From a passenger's point of view I would say the HVs feel far older due to all the rattling and vibration you get on them whereas you don't get anywhere near as much on LTs.

I had been disappointed at routes 83 & 483 receiving 2-year extensions and missing out on VMHs and smart hybrids respecitvely. This assumes route 83 staying with Metroline and route 483 awarded to Abellio. However, now that their contracts have been extended I hope they gain BDEs and Caetano electric double-decks in 2023. That would be fantastic if it happened. I've made no secret on not being a fan of VWs so I can't wait for the 483 to get new buses. I prefer Metroline ex-First routes to have Metroline indigenous buses where possible. Although the VWs would probably have needed replacing had the next tenders occurred next year, I think they are more likely to be replaced by electrics in 2023 or soon after than had these occurred next year.

Yeah i agree, the 29 is my local and all the other pretty buses and then you just got the 29. The 88 had a downgrade too, but had a half MMC allocation so 50/50. The 88 going from those horrible stuffy LTs to relatively good E400s? That's anything but a downgrade in my eyes! I was so impressed by route 88 losing LTs in favour of standard buses that it was my 1st London bus ride after the change happened.

Around Ealing Hospital I think the area has a great mix of ex-First TEs on the 92 and Metroline TEHs on the 282 whilst Metroline have lost other routes in that area, the ex-First TEs remain a constant!

What is fun about routes 92 & 282 is that their Enviro 400s, apart from both batches being classics ie not MMC, are complete opposites. Route 92 uses diesels ex First, while route 282 uses indigenous hybrids. Add in Abellio route 207 with assorted Enviro 400s, route 483 with indigenous and ex-First VWs, and route 607 with VMHs, and there could hardly be a greater variety of double-deckers there.

I really like E200EVs but I don't want them to just take over London with Go-Ahead now having loads as well as Metroline, RATP and Stagecoach having some too. Its a shame that the 484 didn't get E.City golds but hopefully there will be more types of electric single deckers.

56 will most likely get electrics next contract , displacing it's current hybrids to the 257!

And the 257 could will be up for tender renewal in October 2022 unless given a 2 year extension. The 56 and 69 seem to be the new 25 for speculation.

Mind you, in so far as they have been able to train staff during this pandemic, they have had their work cut out training drivers for routes 25 & 425, and even route 173 for later in the year.
