A twist on an old favourite poll. Which London Route do you feel offers the least of interest for passengers/crew to look at.
All additions welcome. As an example I'm thinking of routes that don't pass near to anything of interest to visitors, through large areas of areas of the same thing, flat routes, straight routes, town centres neither large nor unique. A thought on areas you don't like beyond objective reasoning, I'm from Barking which was always a bit bleak and the bits that weren't were housing estates full of the same house. But for some weird reason, I hated Romford, which was then a far superior area, hilly, nicer housing, so no grudges or "it's a s***hole there" kind of thinking. It's about scenery not crime hot-spots.
My vote is for the 173, the A13 flanks large, flat housing estates from roughly the same era and marshlands with pylons, factories, wasteland, decay. Little Heath village green is pleasant until you get off and hear the traffic/choke on the fumes.

Why is 372 on this list? It’s got scenery on parts of its route. Especially after it passes Wennington towards Lakeside.

EL2 at the Dagenham Dock end is pretty bleak! I did it end to end recently and must say wouldn’t venture there in the dark! Seems like a survivor from a war zone with 1 bus and nothing else for miles!

Routes that entirely operate within the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Hillingdon, Sutton or Bexley.

Is the inclusion of 108 an error? You have views of the Blackheath open spaces, the O2 & Emirates Cable Car, the Canary Wharf towers, Westfield and some parts of the Olympic Village along the route.
Out of the three in the poll, I went with 173.

Routes that entirely operate within the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Hillingdon, Sutton or Bexley. For Havering, The 252 is quite scenic around Upper Rainham Road and parts of Hornchurch areas, the parts of Upminster section of the 248 is pretty nice around there and the 193 between Hornchurch and County Park Estate is a interesting route despite being an round the house single decker route.
The 62 which is an all Barking & Dagenham route is scenic around Marks Gate area including the terminus.

One man's meat, etc.. I find the landscapes and structures around Dagenham quite interesting to look at, certainly impressive. So the 173 and EL2 rank highly for me as 'scenic', if not necessarily bucolic in the way a trip on the southern leg of the 465 is. The 372 has good views over the Rainham Marshes in parts and over to the QEII and Littlebrook. There are people on this forum who have taken the X80 for similar views from the QEII. And plenty of people take the time to travel out to the Rainham Marshes for day visits (the visitor centre has a huge full height viewing window) and make no complaints about what they see.
The most tedious bit of the 372 for me is the suburban section between Rainham and Hornchurch, which just seems to go on forever.
My vote would have to go to a semi-orbital distance route which punches through miles of almost unbroken identikit suburban sprawl, either interwar or postwar. Candidates include the 114, 365, 213, E7..

Always thought the 224 was a pretty grimy route to look at though the window, seemingly going through industrial area after industrial area! Only things worth looking at is what you can spot as you pass ON and the bikes at the Ace Cafe!

255 I'd say is one of the least scenic routes I've been on. Although I've only ever used it upto Norbury, it passes through quite a lot of housing estates between Streatham and Balham

one of my favourite routes but I would say the 265 isn't that scenic.

Routes that entirely operate within the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Hillingdon, Sutton or Bexley. You leave Bexley alone 😛 229 is a decent ride, 96 too. Will say that the B13 is a bit of an acquired taste though 😂

364 is pretty bleak. Just residential areas. The 287 is also pretty bleak.
