Interesting quote in the link (strong sales for delivery of buses in London), apart from 20 hydrogen buses ordered 2 years ago, is there anything else He added that the Wrightbus factory has created the world’s first hydrogen-electric double-decker bus, which emits only water with orders expected to come in within the coming years. There are already strong sales for the delivery of buses in London and Aberdeen this year, according to the Chief Executive.

I didn't know of any outstanding orders for London apart form the 20 for the 7? Not sure what the strong orders are.

A supplier to Wrightbus with directors including the bus giant's former owner Jeff Wright has gone bust with the loss of 30 jobs, Business Telegraph can reveal. Advance Engineering in Ballymena, which describes itself as a "social enterprise factory", appointed administrators yesterday. Advance Engineering is based at Pennybridge Industrial Estate and is a subsidiary of Green Pastures Church - the evangelical church led by Mr Wright.

Lord knows what is going in there Though Jeff Wright will blame COVID-19 for the redundancies. But across the bus industry things have slowed down, even ADL are struggling a little. Wrightbus would do even more, having the Streetdeck with underpowered engine and top speed of 37 miles an hour. I don't know why, if they have access to Mercedes engines, they don't use the Citaro 6 pot OM936 instead. No one really cares for tiny fuel saving engines if you burn most of the fuel thrashing the bus each time EDIT: even for hybrid orders, for the first time in a while, Arriva has abandoned Wrights for deckers, going for the E400 City and MMC for the 405 and 202 orders. I wonder if they will order any BYD electric deckers soon, depending on what tenders come up menxt?

Arriva do have the 319 coming up with electrics, so perhaps they will be buying electrics for Central London routes and hybrids for all other routes. That's just what I think, I just based it on how they like to cut costs, they retained the 318, 466, B15 with 10+ year old buses.

I would be surprised if any more hybrids are ordered now, given TfL's aim to have the whole London bus fleet zero-emission by 2030. Contracts going forward will be awarded with either new electrics (and possibly hydrogens), or existing vehicles.

Contracts going forward will be awarded with either new electrics (and possibly hydrogens), or existing vehicles. I think Metroline are taking some Hydrogen Streetdecks, but I assume Arriva will get some electric infrastructure in. I think TfL will allow hybrids and Smart Hybrids, but no more straight diesel. And no more diesel single decks, only electrics, so either Caetano eCity Gold's or BYD E200's in the future. Perhaps no infrastructure for electrics was the main reason behind GAL getting the 184 as they have everything in place. Outside London, there's still a preference for Euro6 diesel due to distances covered. Some operators have converted their hybrids back into straight diesels again. Interesting times ahead... But I think Wrightbus won't be making anymore G3's, unless it's the identical Streetdeck (such bad marketing )

According to today’s Times, the hydrogen streetdecks for London are due to arrive in November although I don’t know if it means delivery or starting service.
