Anyone else following the Rugby World Cup in Japan? After winning the Cricket World Cup earlier this year I think it would make a nice double for England to be victorious in Japan!
We’ve already gone further than 2015 (when we got knocked out in the pool stage) with today’s win over Argentina and its looking likely to be Australia in what should be an incredible quarter final
Story of the tournament for me is Japan. They scored a very impressive win over Ireland and may well shock everyone by making the quarter finals. The hosts doing well always helps a tournament and Japan really have exceeded expectations
Looking forward to some more great rugby!

Watched the England game this morning quite a convincing win in the end. So glad the argentinian player got send off after that awful tackle on Owen Farrel he could have seriously broken his neck. I would love England to win but still think it will be New Zealand.

Scotland are going to feel really hard done by if their game against Japan gets called off. Nothing you can do about Mother Nature I guess.

I agree it would be harsh on Scotland but they knew the rules before the tournament started; pool games get cancelled and teams are awarded two points for the draw. Is it satisfactory? No, but they are the rules and World Rugby has to stick by them

No, but they are the rules and World Rugby has to stick by them I entirely agree. If they'd played better, they wouldn't be in this position.

They seem to have money for legal action against this... they could be using the money to train better in the first place. They lament that Scotland is seen as collateral damage in sport (they are no better at football, with only two decent teams), although there's the ongoing political debate over independence, I'd love to see them go it alone without our money It's good to see Japan in the last 8

We nailed them - totally nailed them. We owned the best team in the world and even gifted them a try! It was still incredibly tense though because New Zealand are very strong in the latter stages of games. It was an incredible performance from the boys
As an English sports fan it’s not often one can say we’re in the World Cup Final and now this is the second time in a few months! And we beat Australia and New Zealand on the way to winning the Cricket World Cup......
Although an all Northern hemisphere final against Wales would be nice it would be very sweet to get revenge against South Africa for 2007

Very good world cup final. Its a shame England lost, I'm sure many in here will be disheartened by it, but South Africa played brilliantly. They were scintillating at times, and great to watch. They really are a top side. Hopefully England can regroup now, this is a great team with lots of potential so I hope we can win the six nations next year.

South africa were the better team on the day but england have played brilliantly across the whole tournament especially that game against New Zealand, they should keep there heads up high despite the lost. I'm glad there was some tries took ages for there to be one.

Well done South Africa, they were magnificent. Almost feels like we peaked with that performance against New Zealand and the final was a step too far

It’s four years later and we’re in France for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. As I type, England are strolling to victory against Chile having secured wins against Argentina and Japan. England haven’t had the best of build ups and aren’t among the favourites (South Africa, Ireland and France since you ask!) but results build momentum and it can be denied that England have that at present and look like cruising into the quarter finals
The surprise result of the tournament so far is probably Fiji’s win over Australia and it does put Australia in danger of missing out on the quarter finals
We could have a cracking game tonight as Ireland take on South Africa. I’m hoping to be able to watch a few more games as I’m on holiday from work in a few days time

Bravo to both sides for a fabulous test match. With (so unlucky) Dupont (seemingly) out, Ireland may now be the tournament favourites. Can they deliver?
