You have to wonder why money was wasted changing the 53's blinds from Lambeth North to County Hall. Passengers are not carried to County Hall and the empty buses only run round the roundabout. It's probably just to trick people into thinking the 53 goes further into Central London than it does. I guess we should be glad someone didn't try to make the blind "Waterloo, County Hall"

I imagine the bus doesn't actually announce County Hall when it gets to the terminating stop?

Well PD didn't waste money on re-blinding on various buses just to have 53 County Hall on blinds, most of the YX16 MMC's at PD didn't have the 161 & 422 on the blinds at the time so it was a good opportunity to add these routes on the blinds as well as having the newly gained 669 and the N53 being properly on the blinds.

I would change the 601 from 'Dartford Heath Schools' to 'Wilmington Schools'. It's much more geographically accurate and it serves Wilmington Grammar School for boys/for girls and Wilmington Academy.

This gives a stop close to St Thomas’ Hospital and puts it in a slightly more central location to attract those who may not want to wait under the bridge at Lower Marsh if they feel unsafe there.

I think 354 could do with a qualifier. Instead of Vaguely being Penge it could said Penge high street cos that’s where it terminates, or to be specific, Penge Crooked billet. I think it did use to say that, now it only says Penge.

Penge has more than one terminus and portman227 also suggested Penge, High Street as an alternative so can't see the issue.

That's a good point about the way pubs change names or even disappear nowadays but Penge Croydon Road could be used for the 176 and Penge High Street or Penge Lane /Maple Road for the 354. I agree about Thamesmead and there are numerous other examples.

I'd change the 172 from Brockley Rise to Honor Oak Park to match the P12.

The 164 has a curtailment point which is displayed as Bushey Road, Botsford Road. The actual stop it terminates at is Merton Park Baptist Church. Driver has to explain to passengers wanting to board for the last few stops before that the bus won't be serving Wimbledon, really needs to be changed, along with the iBus announcements.

That is incorrect information, as route records are maintained uote author=" cl54" source="/post/533395/thread" timestamp="1571978743"] As I understand it, TfL specify in the tender document what the blinds say. This would explain the lack of consistency if different people write the tender document As I understand it there is no longer a TfL database of terminal and turning points. Much needed but probably no staff to maintain it due to budget cuts.[/quote]
