When will the first central line train be refurbished? Where will the wheelchair bay space be? Hopefully they receive a red version of Barman because the blue doesn't go well.

Going to be a big refurb as there arent currently any fold down seats that can be used for a wheelchair space.

Have any central line trains been sent off for refurbishment yet or is that on hold due to the pandemic?
If done safely now would be a good time as the central line could probably cope with a few trains less an hour to do it quicker. The Woodford to Hainult shuttle could go back to a through service aswell.

Have any central line trains been sent off for refurbishment yet or is that on hold due to the pandemic?. Two units are at Bombardier Derby, one is expected back in London this month after being fitted with AC motors. Two units are at Ruislip undergoing data transmission installation, a test run was carried out a few days ago and all was successful. Units remain in Acton Works undergoing trial fitment of the LED lighting and wheelchair spaces. The new workshop to do the full refurbishment is a few months from completion in Acton Works, so hopefully a start can be made mid-year.

Have any re furbished 1992 stock come back yet?
Also is there any reason why the Hainault to Woodford is still a shuttle when it is still using two 8 car trains. I thought the reason for it was so it could use 4 car trains (an 8 car split) so that one train could be freed up.

The two units at Derby have returned fitted with AC motors and are running empty testing trains. Other trial units continue to be fitted with the rest of the new fittings; LED lighting, new CIS displays, new data transmission cabling, wheelchair spaces. There were problems testing the 4-car shuttles, gapping and stopping positions and as Night Tube is suspended this allows more units for service. Once the production refurbished units start going to Acton Works then a review on 4-car operation will be made.

With other lines potentially seeing a small drop to their freqs on the outer section, it may be that the Central Line may see slightly less trains to Epping, Hainault and West Ruislip and spare trains can restore the through 8 car trains to the loop.

Still no sign of any refurbished trains back on the Central. This story started over 2 years ago in January 2020 when the new timetable started to free up trains to be refurb.

Can see the whole saga ending up like the D stock with trains only being refurbished for a few years before being withdrawn.

I guess in fairness there is no date given for the new trains but even if within 10 years it may still be wasteful to give them such a heavy refurb.

Still no sign of any refurbished trains back on the Central. This story started over 2 years ago in January 2020 when the new timetable started to free up trains to be refurb. Train 2 has finished dynamic testing of the new; LED lighting, new DTS cabling, CCTV, CIS screens and system. It’s now in Acton Works to receive its AC motors, which have already been tested on train 1.
