The 19 gets my vote. How tight are the roads at the southern terminus once you get the passengers off out of curiosity? Nah the 19s around battersea with a HV is peace of cake. I'll ask my mate what its like with an LT. Honestly though the 19 has it's annoying points like for example Angel to Finsbury Parkand vice versa everyone rather use 19 than the 4 (same with 236 upto Highbury & same with other routes Angel to Highbury) Then angel to Hyde park same issue with the 38. Then we have the 38 drivers themselves who majority are just p***** and as it's normally 3 38s to one 19. They get away with it such as driving very slow Infront of you and it's hard to get past them as they are running in 3s they are just overtaking eachother meanwhile your getting swamped. Plus they love to block the junction at Piccadilly going into Shaftesbury. The traffic on blackstock road/rock street heading to Finsbury Park, Cambridge Circus, Shaftesbury Avenue, Piccadilly traffic all the way to Hyde park. Kings road traffic and constant road works + the 5 million zebra crossings!!!, Battersea bridge to Beaufort Street/Kings Road. Slone Square to Beufort Steet the 11/22/319 don't exist. Have even had someone let a 319 go at SS to get to last stop at Batterse and ask where to pick up the 319!!! Face palm. The bus tip for Slone Square station is one of the most annoying bus stops on the planet as you have to serve it then switch back over to go down kings road, and you often get blocked in. I think I've covered everything. Not a driver but agree about that bus stop at Sloane Square.

If I was a Bus Driver I would say
13 - Between Bakers Street and Frognal I am sure the bus gets packed beyond the legal limit. Plus it’s them Buses I don’t like. N9 - Such a long route I don’t think I could sit down for that long. 382 - Hail and Rude with potential inconsiderate cars parked. 328 - Sometimes not enough stand space at Golders Green meaning taking up half of the stop before.

In terms of miles the 111 is only 1 mile shorter than the N9 and that's a day route so think that would be a bad route to drive.

Still think 111 wouldn't be a nice route to drive but will be interesting to hear if we have any AV drivers on here.

He’s certainly right about the 111 having an impossibly tight timetable in the evening. An evening 111 end to end is quite a thrill hands down my favourite end to end I’ve ever done. Wouldn’t want to do it in the day though lol

N9 is only 1hr20-1hr30 end to end, some day routes take longer than that

Wouldn’t want to do it in the day though lol Not a driver, but the having spoken to a few drivers the 111 isn’t the most popular route at the garage. Some love it but others hate how long it is in the peaks and how little running time you’re given. Once you’re down on time it’s almost impossible to make it up with passengers at every stop, hence why you see so many turns on the route during the morning and evening rush hour. However, the controllers do a superb job of ensuring that all the drivers have adequate rest at the end of the route and make it back to the garage in time for meal relief etc. Outside of the peaks it can be very pleasant to ride and obviously pretty quick late in the evening. As for the N9 it was more popular out of there two for the night drivers apparently. One driver told me that he liked it because of the long breaks at either end (which were about 20 minutes) and the shorter driving hours as there were no cross links. Now it’s at V it could be different especially since duty 961 starts at 8pm and finishes around 5am. That did not go down well with a few AV drivers who chose not move with the route.

I'm not so sure about this but perhaps others can provide an insight into this. How are routes 111, 380, 484, 493 and G1 to drive? Their routings seem quite complex and rather indirect.
Also on a slight tangent, not a complex route but on the several occasions I used the 483 between Ealing and Harrow it was very slow and tedious. It seems as if there's way too much running time, drivers tend to drive slowly along the route and wait at stops quite often.

Worst routes I've driven:
P5 - Don't really like these roundabout routes 129 - yo-yo route, round and round in the same traffic 386 - Another roundabout route, with what is probably the highest speed hump count of any route in London.

I think I've covered everything. How's the rest of the route?

I think I've covered everything. I’m crying at these explanations man! That’s one of the reasons why the junction layout should never have been changed at Piccadily as once it’s blocked for a minute the traffic piles up so fast and it’s usually as you pointed out multiple 38’s! The 19 is a horrible route. I occasionally use it end to end (God help me) to connect with the 170 to get to Roehampton when I’ve got time to kill from my pit in Turnpike Lane. I instantly regret it as soon as I get to the southern end of the route as it’s just moving forwards a few inches at a time! Wow you do the 19 end to end without getting paid!! Someone give this guy a medal. I mean I got paid to do it and hated it.

Do you know what the most liked route is at AV? Also are shorter routes always more liked than the longer routes?

Unfortunately when the tubes do not play ball and Hammersmith bridge falling apart as well as SWR’s reliable train service, it’s the quickest way to get to Roehampton from where I live. I probably need a drugs and alcohol test tbf
