Much as I like Go-Ahead London, I occasionally notice people who are dismayed or just bored when a route is awarded to Go-Ahead London. I therefore thought I'd start a thread about routes you'd prefer not to see awarded to Go-Ahead. These can be any routes, not just those out to tender soon.
All I ask is that you give a reason if you can. I shall start with some examples.
2 - It passes Stockwell but reaches Norwood. I also like the anomaly that the more southern route 432 along Tulse Hill has a more northern garage than route 2.
25 - It has often been my favourite route at BW, so long may its return there continue
52 - We see plenty of GA buses in Victoria, and Metroline better reflects the link from there to Willesden
53 - As it reaches Woolwich and Plumstead, this is better reflected whilst run by Stagecoach.
96 - As it reaches Dartford I hope it is awarded to Arriva next time
173 - It was the first route awarded to Grey Green, the forerunner to Arriva, who have effectively kept the route ever since
205 - It would be brilliant to see it won by Tower Transit, as both LI and X would be good bases for it.
307 - Its eastern and western areas are best reflected by Arriva and Metroline respectively. Also, it is a route in the area lost by First over 16 years too soon to be acquired by Go-Ahead.
470 - Although it terminates near AL, RATP EB better reflects how it reaches Epsom
P4 - Stagecoach are a novelty in Brixton, and Arriva would be a novelty in Lewisham.

Pretty much every non-GAL route?

Pretty much every non-GAL route? Maybe that's how a few enthusiasts feel. I did give examples in several of their operating areas at least.

Go Ahead have a good chance of winning the 173 so do Stagecoach. Announcement should be out this month, personally I want the route to go to Stagecoach or Go Ahead, it’s ran poorly by Arriva, I know from regular usage of the route.

The 173 has made QSI targets and extensions, the route was plagued by the A13 like many routes in the area. As it travels directly on it, it is affected worst than many other routes. Overall the 173 has made target and was doing better since last timetable change. As with tenders it can go either way, but Arriva have bid for the route, also the 174; whether they gain them is a mystery. It is very competitive with both Go-Ahead and Stagecoach.

Any Stagecoach East London routes, personally I'm bored of GAL (especially from RR) getting all those ex Stagecoach routes over the past few years.

197 ... oh too late for that one! I was hoping route 197 to be awarded to Abellio, or even Stagecoach as I live so near a Stagecoach 197 in Manchester.

Honestly the 41. As much as there's no GAL routes in the area of Crouch End, Archway & even Turnpike Lane (only 231 and maybe another idk correct me if I'm wrong) I personally like Arriva running it. Same with the 102.
I can't lie, seeing the 232 in areas that have not been known to have go Ahead routes (Arnos Grove, New Southgate, Finchley, Brent Cross, St Raphael's etc) it was very odd but then I suppose it was the same with the 13.

I’d like to see some variety personally in the Hybrid department for RR if they do grab some new routes rather than EHs. So far they’ve only got LTs and EHs, but I’d like to see a WHV and a MHV at RR.

Routes 41 & 102 are good examples for keeping areas such as Archway and Golders Green Go-Ahead free zones. Route 232 would be the other GA route at Turnpike Lane.

If the thread was rather titled "Routes you prefer not to be gained by Tower Transit" The 205 would probably top that list. After the showing on the 25 and 425 the last thing we want are them returning to that corridor with the 205 Going back to the topic of the thread I don't quite mind if they win anything if they operate them well. One route I do hope they do not win is the 62 though for sentimental value.

In 1986 it was lost to EnsignBus but regained by LBL East London in 1991. Having not been lost since it is of course now with Stagecoach. Now, had it stayed with EnsignBus so then part of First and never subsequently lost, not being due for tender around Autumn 2013 it would - like route 193 - have fallen into GA hands. So, you might have had a narrow escape due to its award in 1991.

One route I do hope they do not win is the 62 though for sentimental value. I finally saw why everyone says the 13 is run so bad today... Rode on the 232 for the first time, to get my first ever ride on a Wright Streetlite, and got on WS140 from Brent Cross to Henlys Corner, where I was going to take a 13 to Golders Green. Now this is where the story starts... Bus times said the bus was due in 12 minutes, it ended up being 23 minutes. I watched as 3 MVs were apparently all due to leave North Finchley at the same time and after a few minutes of not moving, all 3 left and travelled together in a convoy... So rather then regulating the service they just pointlessly sent out 3 buses all at once to travel in a weird convoy. I got on MV38231 which was at the front, and MV38222 was following closely behind, and another one I forgot the ID of zoomed past whilst we were at a bus stop just before GG. I can now see where the dislike stems from - especially if they ran the 25/425 like that.
