What if someone works late shifts or early morning shifts in Willesden and lives in Golders Green. They have no other choice. TBF, you could apply that to just about any route but obviously, it's not feasible to do so . In essence, is there any particular demand for such a link over other routes in London? I just find it strange that the 260 doesn't run at night

They have no other choice. Use a Taxi or take 6 52 & N98 to Central London and use the 13. Or any other services that take you there. A lot of major towns have a least 1 night service.

What if someone works late shifts or early morning shifts in Willesden and lives in Golders Green. They have no other choice. Why not extend the N102 to AC then? If demand warrants it? I don’t think an entirely new night route needs to be introduced alongside 2 established ones though.

Also the late / shift argument is pretty weak and night worker / late shifts usually start before the last bus and finish after buses have started running in the morning.
I am repeating what I said in the past but if someone takes a job it's their responsibility to decide if they can can get to work each day. Everywhere can't be linked by one bus 247.

Personally if I used the 6/52/N98 and the 13 going via central London it would be very time consuming. In that time it might even be quicker to walk. London's night services aren't good enough. Some areas don't even have a single night service

I disagree. Some people start work at 6am meaning that they only have the choice of night bus or taxi. I know which one I'd choose based on costs. I think even one or two people on here take night buses to work. With poor night services living in London would be unattractive to many people

For once, we are in agreement!

I don’t think an entirely new night route needs to be introduced alongside 2 established ones though. Or create an N297 running from Ealing to Golders Green with the extension being via the 260

Personally I think there would be more demand for a rail replacement service on Sunday mornings from Clapham Junction /Richmond to Stratford. First trains don’t start until 9-9:30 and this is due to maintenance work taking place on Saturday evenings into the mornings because freight uses the North London Line at night due to the number of London Overground trains now running throughout the day. I reckon that would have a far better business case to introduce, particularly when Old Oak Common gets its feet off the ground.

Cost has nothing to do with it! If someone uses two buses its the same cost with the hopper fare if within the hour.
Poor night service in London? I would hardly call it poor.

I totally agree. The cost of running a half hourly night service is high with very little recovered in fares outside of Friday/Saturday nights.

I meant the difference between bus and taxi cost. It's different if the company is paying for their taxi fees though. Several areas in London do not have a night route. In my area, Hillingdon, Ickenham, Ruislip, Ruislip Manor, Eastcote, Rayners Lane, South Ruislip, Pinner, North Harrow, Northwood and Northwood Hills do not have a night route.

Finances/ridership aside, I think it would be a great shame if we lost some of our night routes. Even if people don't use them that much, they serve the purpose of ferrying people from A to B. There's also the fact that some people might lose their only night route.
