Interesting Hydrogen is following Electric and going down the City route. Is this a concerted effort to drop the 400 MMC?

Interesting Hydrogen is following Electric and going down the City route. Is this a concerted effort to drop the 400 MMC? I was thinking about this myself. Did look into how long some bodies lasted ALX400: 1997-2005 Enviro400: 2005-2014 Enviro400 MMC: 2014-present Enviro400 City: 2016-present Looking at the 8-9 year life of the Trident and Enviro400 the MMC will probably have a view to be phased out around 2022-2023 at most, so it certainly does seem like they're shelving it in favour of the City. However I do think Diesels will still be on the standard MMC body for some time to come, effectively running down the clock until zero emission takes over to a point where it's no longer financially viable to have two bodies offered.

Interesting that the article says they can only run for 2.5km in battery mode rather than 3 miles.

Yep, seems to be a potential case of effectively same cell with different tank layouts to optimise range alongside a different body. Will be interesting to see who operators go for.

One of First Aberdeen’s new Hydrogen Streetdecks. I think they sound interesting. The uploaded of the video (not me) has reported build quality has improved. youtu.be/ymHAHuCrYIs

Ahh that explains the odd seat layout. Thanks!

The city of Dundee is part of the European Union's JIVE 2 hydrogen bus project.

That high pitched whining is incredibly irritating. Wonder if it sounds as bad outside as it does from the inside. I had to listen to T557 afterwards to soothe my ears: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f3NuO3XsGM
