Is there any news on possible easing of capacity guidance on buses and trains from 17th May, or will new guidance be issued later in the week?

In your personal opinion and observations do you think that has died down since the first Lockdown or just the same? Or is there more traffic?

That is good news for the industry, there was a danger that potential passengers would start to be deterred due to the risk of getting stranded.

On the eve of further easing of restrictions, bus use in London is now at 60% of pre-pandemic levels and Underground use is at 45%. The advisory capacity for a double-deck bus increases from 30 to 60 passengers from 17th May.

Isn't 60 the maximum in general non-Covid, the capacity restrictions, including stickers, are also going to be removed anyway.

Rear-facing and sideways seats are still supposed to be out of use, and no standing passengers should be allowed.

How's it like with people adhering to social distancing on the buses?
I had a journey on the 114 this morning where I was on the front row of the top deck, and these men got on, with no masks, and sat in the two rows immediately behind me, when most of the seats on the top deck were available! The driver had to play the announcement about wearing masks on public transport at that stop and the following. I wasn't too bothered so I didn't say anything but I think that people should at least try to social distance and if they're not wearing a mask (whether they're excempt or simply don't care about mask wearing), they should try to use the seats which are far apart from other passengers!

Generally (have only travelled extensively south of the river, in Central London and in inner East London), outer South London has been generally socially distanced well, with masks correctly worn. Worst areas for compliance have been Lewisham/New Cross/Peckham. Not been to North/North West London in 2021 so cannot comment there.

From what I've seen around south and central London compliance is generally pretty good. I've only made a few short bus journeys since the start of covid but far more train journeys where social distancing is a lot easier and I would certainly avoid sitting near other passengers as far as possible. This morning I overheard somebody saying that they will always wear a face covering on the tube in the future regardless of whether it's mandatory or not.

Generally since the beginning of the pandemic, it’s been mainly very good unlike the Underground - my Victoria & Central Line trains today were rammed to the brim. In comparison on the bus, no one has even tried to sit next to me at all
