The people asked for it and this channel has come up with the goods once again. Another East London gem for the 25 (I'm aware it was with first london at the time of recording) www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qEOdSTHZ4kEnjoy folks Wow where do i start with this video Can't believe it was 22 years ago! Feel so old I was working at Chancery Lane back then and remember the first Saturday that First took over the 25! the highlight for me was the temporary Metrobuses which were very rare in east London.
Spotted a few gems in the video include the Greenway Leyland Nationals on Red Arrow Work and the CapitalCity Buses on the S2 at Stratford. Also noticed how the 25 was punching the RML on the 8 in the Holborn area Sorry but I refuse to acknowledge 1999 was 22 years ago What an amazing trip down memory lane watching that, I would have been 3 here 😩 The most interesting part for me was seeing how Stratford used to be, as my first ever visit there was in 2011/2 after it had massively grown for the olympics.

This was shot during my own bus hopping days, so brings back a lot of great memories. Love how the 25 was punching the 8 in the early minutes. That RML was stealing the show for me. BW’s RMLs were so well turned out. For those interested, the 25 used to run via Bank (weekday) or Tower (weekends). These days communicating such variances would be tricky on today’s blinds. At the 27:20 mark if you look closely, you can see how the passengers would know which route the bus was going on the old style blinds. Will watch the rest later tonight.

That's one thing I did notice being an East London native. Those days if it was going through Bank the green square would be on the far left whereas if it was Tower Hill it would be in the centre. They had to stop that variation in 2004 because of the bendys.

Come to think of it folks apart from stagecoach and maybe metrobus (before go ahead took over) what other bus companies in London avoided the centre staircases for their double deckers.
(Before anyone says technically stagecoach was a part of it because of their titans, I'm talking about post London Transport days onwards)

Stagecoach 14153, 14160 have entered service on 160 Another route starts to convert to electric buses Not surprised. I had a feeling they would start using them on the 1st December despite being parked up for at least two weeks. New Road Tax Month.

No payment for electric vehicles duty is £0, so doesn't matter when they start in the month.
