The tender announcement post on blink states the 310 will use buses coming off contracts. I would infer this meaning there is no set batch so I would expect a variety of buses from different batches 😂 So does this mean that it will come off a route that is currently using vehicles intended for the 310 now? Or vehicles that have already been released/about to be and will head to the 310? If they are coming off a contract, for 1 year can see it using the YX11's and YX61's from the 309 (originally from the 339). Though if the route requires longer buses, I can see Stagecoach perhaps using the MMCs from the 165 and D6, and then retaining the route again for a 3 year contract before considering making it electric, considering the age profiles of the buses will still be good enough to run till 2030 etc.

Same with the 165 or 296, all viable options.

You're seriously saying the BZLs are boring and yet you'll miss the crusty and very basic B9s? Wow. Just wow. Guess you've not been on a B9TL when driven in high revs? Not sure whats crusty and basic about a B9TL myself, would need some sort of explanation on that? They are boring imo, they are not even a path on the B7TL. The B9TL is like Stephen Fry, boring!

I like the Go-Ahead ones up to the 400 series - 400 series above I find fine but from my rides on the pre 400 series, they have more oomph about them IMO. Ironically, my area still has a ex First example - WVN22 hasn't been kicked out of SW yet.

Ironically, my area still has a ex First example - WVN22 hasn't been kicked out of SW yet. it may be down to the maintenance (or lack of) at RR- the WVLs that were on the 5 were various stages of awful.

I think the timing makes things tricky as if it had been a week later then things would have been easier to work out with the W changes. The W14 gets a 8 PVR cut which is the requirement for the 310 but not sure what the plan is with their buses. You could stick the ex-339 buses on the W14 for a week before the changes and free up the W14 buses for 310. Then when the W changes happen the ex-339 buses come off the W14 and go to the W12.

The W14 is currently allocated 3x 65reg, 1x 64reg and 7x 12reg E200s. The 64/65reg (ex-TT) will be allocated to the 225, and in the short term they may need to cover the W13's extension to Leyton. But the 12reg (ex-First) will be spare, so could form most of the 310's allocation, would just need two more spares. Could just put 2 older E200s on the 296 or 314 to release them?

I am fed up explaining the 549 and W14 / W12 situation but once again : 549 is not withdrawn it gains a new number and is extended. W14 is renumbered W12 and rerouted at Leytonstone. In reality it’s the old W12 that is withdrawn. I really doubt they will leave the 549 without a service when Stagecoach could cover the PVR of one with any spare buses until September. WH still has a diesel that’s blinded for the route.
