Those MetroCities are frankly diabolical. I sat at the back of when on the W11 and it physically sent pain through my back going over all the bumps on that route. By far and away the worst electric single decker around. This is a big claim, but I’d go as far as to say they’re worse than StreetLites Interesting you say that, as I too sat at the back on the Metrocity. The W5 is very harsh however and I’d like to try them on another route first. Going over speed humps in any single decker is really down to the driver. Speed/braking/positioning on approach is critical in avoiding passengers being bounced out of the rear seat.

Interestingly I felt he was pretty conservative over the bumps, and a cool feature of those metrocities is the cctv camera above the drivers pedals, so you can see what’s going on.

To be honest and I think this would corroborate with vjaska ‘s point as well, the rock hard suspension is going to be worst at the back because that’s where the rear axle, the most weight, and therefore the biggest jolts will be. Sat in the middle or front may not be so bad, but I found it to be completely unforgivable

So the E400 EV at the Bromley Garage open day isn't part of the SL3 batch but rather a demonstrator instead? I mean it makes sense why it's at the garage now anyway, and I did see someone write a message about the garage being electrified. Perhaps this mean they could even potentially begin type training with it until the actual batch arrives for the route.
In terms of the BZLs for the 314, I think we will start seeing them soon?

The bus shown at Bromley will be a demonstrator in due course although the vehicle has yet to be certified. Thus far it hasn’t been confirmed which operator will run it first.

Stagecoach Electroliner with 236 on the blinds. If it does convert to electric DD I hope it doesnt use the electroliners. Looks very goofy.

Although it is getting better with the newer buses getting them, and the ones being re-programmed so I think some action is being taken into place.

Well it’s a case of whether they’re Hanover or Mobitec. Mobitec’s are programmed with Doug Rose’s work (who also configured the new design smart blinds from 2016 onwards), and Hanovers aren’t. Which is why a lot of screens have this half-arsed bodge job approach, which is well known I strongly disapprove of. GAL have fully Hanover screens, TUK do with 72-reg buses onwards and and RATP and Stagecoach have handfuls of Hanovers

McKenna have his smart blind layouts which were individual letters and numbers in layouts created with traditional blind fonts. TfL financed them. They have "borrowed" them for their LED units after protests about the awful early creations. Somebody at Stagecoach entered all their destinations and route numbers on the system of the trial buses originally at West Ham. They didn't use capital letters for the qualifiers.

Are all routes handed back being awarded on 3 year contracts? If so, the 55/56 would follow suit. It has been well overdue for these two routes especially as the new contract starts in February.

I do I agree 55 and 56 be 3 years contract routes been handed back contract been retained existing current buses 3 years contract The 56 might be the only one to buck the trend as it was only ever a 5 year contract before due to the age of the buses. All the others for 3 years have been 5 + 2 year extension contracts.

Probably worth mentioning 11066, as it appears no obvious post has been made apart from on the repaints thread, where its special livery wasn’t mentioned. The new Selkent Diplomat does look good in its red/white/black livery!
12345 is also a recent repaint and it thankfully retains its red/cream/black Selkent Ambassador colours.
