I don't think the 36 was re tendered in 2003 but it didn't start a new one in 2008 so it must have done. I don't really the 36 being the Routemater award thou. Id always thought it was the 14 in 2002. Edit: iv looked at London bus routes and the 30th November 2002 entry; 36 withdrawn between Lewisham and New Cross (see route 436). All journeys to run between New Cross and Queens Park. 436 New route, Lewisham to Paddington via route 36. Operator by London Central with articulated Citaro low floor singer deckers. No mention on either of new contracts. Whatever was done to the 36 contract at the time was not made public. I'm pretty sure there was no tender award. Londonbusroutes.net continued to show the 36 running on its original May 2000 contract, and the 436 running on the 36 contract, but I think even Mr Munster was not clear on what had happened.
The fact that the 36, 436 and 453 were all retendered in one tranche (to start in Feb 2008) suggests that the 36 must have started some sort of new contract in 2003 even if that wasn't disclosed at the time. If it had still been on the 2000 contract it would have to have been retendered by May 2007 at the latest.
The 14 was indeed the last route to be *retendered* and awarded on the basis of using Routemasters (ignoring 9H/15H obviously). Perhaps the "new" 36 contract made provision for a mid-contract conversion to OPO, given that TfL had already decided to phase out the Routemasters by then.

Even the 7 back in 2000 had an option to allow for OPO within its contract.

I believe he is looking for specific examples and there was no DW’s in North London in 2008. The Gemini2’s weren’t built yet whilst the Eclipse Gemini’s were all at BA, BN, CN & TC still AD had a mix of VLWs and DLPs (the latter being the 51-reg long-wheelbase examples that were bought for the 29) at that stage. There may also have been a handful of early DLAs for the 617/629. No idea on specific fleetnumbers though. BTW I think you mean Pulsar Gemini for the DWs.
The original DW's the first few were DAFBus branded before becoming VDL in 2004 were all South of the river, the furthest a DW travelled north was Finsbury Park with the 19 out of BA (Hester Road garage). Only later were lower numbered DWs scattered about to Enfield and Wood Green. Conversely North London got most of the 2nd generation DWs (201+) before some headed south to BN. North London had VLWs with noisy fans (clutch fault in cooling fan), followed by noisy VLAs for the 123

DLA/older DW came much latter on when things got complicated with half 34 moving in. and 125 moving out etc

In 2007 Norwood had VLA1-55, 70-73, 104-128, DLA149, 155, 158, 166-174, 204, 212
What were the buses that couldn't go on the 432/417/415? One of those routes? something to do with long wheelbase or something?
Also in 2008 in came the 415, did any more buses come for this? I think 432 had a PVR loss?

The 432 was solidly SWB VLA's & DLA's for a long time before LWB VLA's went out - the 415 & 417 had no issues as both routes saw usage quite early on. I can only guess there may have been an issue with the left turn at Anerley at the time as the rest of the routing wouldn't of been a problem.

Do you think DW455 came back into service anytime soon as it hasn't been on the road since last September and due to suffering fire damage and T37 hasn't been on the road since 10th April

It's so strange to see that the majority of the routes at DT are double deckers.
