The 62 and 287/368. They head the same direction down Ripple Road and the 62 then passes them the opposite directions in Barking Town Centre. Almost always should the two buses head down Ripple Road together they'll pass in Barking Town Centre I think it needs to be opposite directions in both cases else there would be way more examples - 25 / 8 at Bow and from Bank onwards, 104 / 238, 104 / 300 and so on

The 60 and 109 first meet between Streatham Station and Streatham Common. From Streatham Common the 60 heads to the Pollards Hill while the 109 heads to Norbury. They meet again at Galpins Road heading towards Croydon.

I don’t mean to be rude but what’s the difference between this thread and the Different side of road Same destination thread? Maybe I wasn't clear in my OP, sorry. Some of the examples here don't work. The destination is irrelevant. What we want is two drivers passing each other, waving etc., then doing it again on the same journey. Not just the same two routes, but SAME DRIVERS/VEHICLES.

Wasn't sure if I should create a thread for this or not. There may not be too many more examples of this, or any, though I suspect there will be. Two routes pass in opposite directions, then pass AGAIN in opposite directions. Not going to the same destination, but the two drivers can wave to each other as they pass, and then do so again on the same journeys. 499 and 256 along Noak Hill Road pass, the 499 then goes via North Hill Drive to Hilldene Avenue, the 256 goes via Straight Road to Hilldene Avenue and they pass again in opposite directions. Unusual or not? 57 and 131 Similarly between the 131 and 152 along Burlington Road and Merton High Street. With the westbound 131 and 200 it's a triple-pass at Merton High Street, Wimbledon Station and Raynes Park...their third time in opposite directions as the 200 loops around over the last few stops to its bus stand.

The 111 and H32 pass each other in opposite directions at Vicarage Farm Road and then again at Hounslow on the High Street/Hanworth Road

These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
129/ 188. Split at North Greenwich then join up again on Trafalgar Road down to the Cutty Sark.
132/486/422 split at North Greenwich then join up again at Bexleyheath.
177/[472,301] split up at Thamesmead then join up again at Plumstead
244/[178,161]/291/386 all split up at QE Hospital and meet up again in Woolwich
89/99 split up at Bexleyheath then meet up again at Slade Green
180/380/54/122 split up at Lewisham then meet up again at Woolwich
185/436 split up at Lewisham then meet up again at Camberwell
1/188 split up at Tower Bridge Road then meet up again at Canada Water
108/D8 split up at Poplar then meet up again at Bow.
108/180 split up at Lewisham then meet up at Greenwich Library
472/161 split up at Charlton then meet up at North Greenwich
99/301 split up at Plumstead then meet up at Brampton Road/Woolwich Road
178/89 split up at Lewisham then meet up at Sun in the Sands
225/199 split up at Surrey Quays then meet up at Lewisham

Do these routes pass each other in opposite directions TWICE on the same journey, SAME DRIVERS/VEHICLES? Sorry. Struggling to get my head around the criteria for this thread? Take my 357 and W16 example. A W16 leaves Chingford Mount and heads Eastbound on New Road. A Westbound 357 for Whipps Cross could pass it, on the other side of the road and wave at the W16's driver. Then the 357 carries on down through Walthamstow and Baker's Arms. But then, as the 357 goes up Lea Bridge Road towards the Whipps Cross Roundabout, that same W16 (still going towards Leytonstone) will be on the opposite side of the road on LBR passing him for a second time. Both drivers can see each other head on and wave at one anther once again. Any clearer? Here's an example that doesn't work: 58 and 69 leave Walthamstow together, go different routes, and meet up at Leyton again. But at every part of the journey, they're on the same side of the road going in the same direction. Another example: 123 and 144 on Wood Green High Road, headed to Ilford and Edmonton Green respectively. The drivers pass each other in opposite directions on Wood Green High Rd, then the 144 goes up Lordship Lane; the 123 goes up Westbury Ave. Then they meet at the end of Boreham Road - BUT, they don't meet going in opposite directions. They start going the same way across the junction, so there's no second opportunity to wave at one another when going head on with each other.
