10: Reinstated between Hammersmith and King’s Cross but rerouted between Tottenham Court Road and Euston via Warren Street
23: Rerouted to Aldwych via route 6 from Marble Arch via Green Park and Trafalgar Square and withdrawn between Hyde Park - Hammersmith.
414: Extended from Maida Hill to Willesden, Bus Garage via route 6 serving Queen’s Park and Kensal Rise
6: Withdrawn
The new 10 would be supporting the 390 which is so badly congested between King’s Cross and Hyde Park Corner. West of Marble Arch has lost all links to Tottenham Court Road except the 98/390, and the 390 is the only route to Hyde Park from Oxford Street now the 10, 73 and 137 have been removed. The new 23 won’t be withdrawn and would be rerouted to replace the 6’s western section without changing the 414 in anyway except an extension. The 414 would also become somewhat of a North West-South trunk route and give it some purpose, and bring a lot of good links from places like Willesden to South Kensington/Putney
My only issue here, is that the 414 might become too long between Willesden and Putney. If that happened, then I’d cut the route to Fulham Broadway and have either the 85 or 270 extended to Fulham Broadway instead. Would make some stand issues though if the 11, 414 and 85/270 stood there
Also, by withdrawing the 6 the costs shouldn’t be as much affected as reintroducing the 10 as your replacing it for another route.

Other people are more than welcome to comment but I've never seen a busy 6 on Park Lane, I know the rerouting provides a round the corner link from Park Lane to Piccadilly which didn't exist before but its not particularly busy so I'm doubtful there's much value in it - having a round the corner link just for the sake of it is pointless in my opinion. I'd much rather the 23 were returned to Oxford Street and I think one of the 15 or 23 should provide that link from Regent Street to the City of London, appalling that there's neither a link from Oxford Circus to the south side of St Paul's as provided by the 15/23 or to the north side of St Paul's as the 25 used to provide. Either returning the 23 to Oxford Street or sending it to Wembley would be better than what we currently have and I fully support reinstating the 10.

I was thinking about that actually, and having the 23 go to Aldwych via Oxford Street instead (like the previous 6) but I felt like with the whole Oxford Street overbussing thing would mean another route have to be removed. I wouldn’t see sense in the 7, 23 and 98 to Edgware Road when you only have the 94 to Bayswater Road and the 390 past Park Lane while the 113/139 to Baker Street. If you did have the 23 go along Oxford Street instead, would cut the 7 back to Marble Arch (which follows the 23 as far as Ladbroke Grove) or even reroute the 7 to Aldwych instead of the 23 to keep a fair amount of routes running instead of too many. The new 10 would also go along Oxford Street too, so I think if the 23 did go along Oxford Street should definitely remove the 7 from Oxford Street in place.

I thought at the time that the 414 rather than the 10 should have been withdrawn.
I'd have kept the 10 Kings Cross to Hammersmith but rerouted it via Marylebone Road (30 route) between Euston and Marble Arch. Then rerouted the 30 via the former 10 route via Russell Square to Tottenham Court Road. This maintains most links whilst still removing a route from Oxford Street.
Then instead of rerouting the 23 to Hammersmith send it via the 414 route to South Kensington with an option to further extend it via the 345 route to Battersea Bridge if the plan to withdraw the 19 west of Holborn went ahead.

As good as this sounds, part of me just doesn’t want the 30 down British Museum. Like a gun to the head. I do like your idea of the 10 though. I would of rerouted the 390 via Russel Square to finish at Oxford Circus instead, the 73 staying at Victoria and rerouting the 30 via the 390 to Notting Hill Gate Would make the 30 and 73 very similar though

If so, running the route to Battersea as well would make the 23 considerably long and harder to manage.

Routes 237 & 267 - routeings swapped, with one route between White City and Fulwell, and another between Hammersmith and Hounslow Heath. With the extended 110 due to cover links between Twickenham and Chiswick/Hammersmith (in addition to the existing 267), this could provide a new direct link between Hammersmith and Hounslow (along the N9 corridor).

You're messing with tradition! Tne 267 is the direct descendant of the 667 trolleybus and has always operated to Hammersmith*. Similarly the link has always been Hounslow - Shepherd's Bush, by the 657 trolleybus, then an extended 177 and latterly the 237. * In trolleybus days, on Summer Sundays and Bank Holidays some 667s were diverted to Shepherd's Bush to provide a direct link to Hampton Court. Also extras were worked by Hanwell Depot until 1960 and these ran in service along Boston Road/Boston Manor Road to and from line of route at Brentford. This sort of swapping around of routes and terminals and odd workings were anathema to bus crews, but somehow trolleybus crews (and passengers) just took it all in their stride.

There is the peak hour X68 and there are a few routes, or sections of routes that are only really needed M-F peak hours. Indeed this is what TfL’s predecessors did back in the day - and could still do in some cases. The City of London in particular is imo very overbussed at weekends. I noticed that in particular just after the Congestion Charge was introduced, as so many routes had near identical frequencies on Saturday daytimes to Mon-Fri midday off-peak.

Hmm, dont really know, I dont really like the 88 along Albany Street as it broke a lot of other links and caused other bus routes to plummet with an increase and makes buses just annoyingly busy, the 27 right now. The 27 down Albany Street might not work as its heavily used at Mornington Crescent towards Baker Street and Paddington. I would keep the 134 down Albany Street and I think it its the best route to go down there, not the 88. But, I like your idea of the 27 at Hampstead Heath. I would extend the 88 to Chalk Farm to be honest as it has AMAZING links and would be something to boost the route massively just by two stops as Camden and Stables Market with Oxford Circus/Whitehall would be amazing. I would then reroute the 24 as you said to Parliament Hill Fields. For the 27 I like to extend to Archway via the 134 passing Kentish Town and Tufnell Park it not that long and it will help out the 134 but first withdrawn between Chalk Farm Morrisons and Camden Town Route 27 actually went to Archway until 1991 when it was curtailed at Camden Town.

In a way I think route 110 should in December be renumbered 391. It will effectively be a simple extension of the current route 391 to Hounslow. Conversely, route 110 is losing its service to West Middx Hospital. It would also mean fewer bus stop route plates needing changing. The tender date would match the current 110 contract.
