I don't think that would be a good idea, the 205 makes use of the garage terminus as buses are scheduled to go in there to have their changeovers. There's also a lot of traffic on the approach to Bromley By Bow and that's the last thing a traffic ridden route like the 205 needs. If the 205 stands in BW why isn't the last stop Now Bus Garage which the 8 serves? The 205 has some journeys which just loop around the church and stand on the roadside, while some go into the garage. Sundays it's almost fully done at the roadside stand. After 7pm on a weekday timetable pretty much all the buses go into BW to stand. That's why they terminate at the Bow Church Station station stop as opposed to the Bow Church stop.

Arguably I would say the 109/159 corridor is busier then the 68/468 corridor that the X68 runs along and maybe the X68 should divert after breaking off at Waterloo to call at maybe Telford Avenue then all 109 stops to West Croydon. The X68 was introduced when the 68 went OPO in the 80s, there would be an outcry if it was withdrawn although it may be at risk if more people working from home reduces usage significantly? I had a cope of 'The last london buses L1-263 delivered yday. Great book and picks. I can see the Ls intended for the X68 and it says they were between the peaks on the 68 to take up the X68 at Russell Square. It's also said what I didn't realise was that in 1994 the 68 was only going to run to Herne Hill and that running to N was a last minute reprieve, no doubt for operational convenience to N. I bet TFL wigs LRT had cut it to Herne Hill now to save costs.

Yes I remember that was the original plan to terminate the 68 at Herne Hill, as you say it probably was only for operational convenience that it was retained to Norwood Garage.

What if the 488 & 205 swapped termini in Bow with the 205 terminating at Hancock Road and the 488 terminating at Bow Church? How would people react I've always wondered. The 488 terminates adjacent to a large Tesco, a lot of passengers would be unhappy to lose that direct link. Although you could argue that passengers in Whitechapel and Mile End would gain one instead.

Re 435 why not just extend 235 to Ealing Broadway? Because if the 235 was extended to Ealing I think that it would require dds because it would get very busy and dds aren’t allowed on the 235 so I thought why not create a new route running between Ealing and Feltham that uses DDs.

Even with a freq reduction (I think its since been reversed) the 16 is pretty frequent for the Neasden section. Was one of the reasons it was split in 1997. A 5 mins DD service on the 16 and 12 min SD service on the 316 showed the contrast.

Whether it's totally forgotten about but there was a plan for the 32 to ultimately be withdrawn between W and Kilburn Park, no doubt due to TFLs thinking that the 16, 32, 189, 316, 332 is too many routes from Cricklewood to Kilburn. The 32 would have diverted to Willesden it seemed.

The 32 is a better candidate however do residents still require a link to Edgware and Colindale Superstores from Kilburn and Cricklewood and Brondesbury?

In the late 90s there were plans to renumber the 77 to 272 while the 77A (now 87) is then renumbered 77...to match its then night element N77 (now N87). Thankfully that didn't happen, what with the confusion it would have caused.

Yeh it was better go give the 77A a new number then people think the '77' still went to Tooting when it would have now gone to Wandsworth. I'm glad it didn't become the 437 thou. 87 looks more like a central London route from Wandsworth.
