Been sitting at RP this whole time since withdrawal in 2018. Found a pic of it on flickr (NOT my photo - credit to Cliff Duncan) showing it parked up in December 2019 at RP.

So many happy memories of this batch on rte 57 Second that - might not be as good as the ex Connex TA’s but still a very nice batch of Tridents.

Great news these Tridents were fantastic! I agree who ever designed the ALX400 in general was a absolute genius it's a shame that buses are not built to that standard anymore.

Great news these Tridents were fantastic! If you thought they were fantastic, I'd love to see your reaction to the ex Connex TA's which were absolute beasts.

I'm sure most on here now know my great dissapproval of E400s. The early batch of E400s aren't to bad but the later ones I am not that keen on. The stuff today is just rubbish. What's your reason of the dislike of the E400s?

The stuff today is just rubbish. What's your reason of the dislike of the E400s? I echo your sentiments regarding the Euro 4 variants, but purely from a view of vehicle performance as alot of them can be quite nippy and responsive. I really dislike the dashboard on E200 and E400, just lots of poor quality plastic slapped together which can come apart really easily, buttons I also find awkward. Suspension is also not the best, very rough riding, lots of rattles and squeaks. With performance it's mainly the Euro 5s which don't drive well at all. Un-responsive throttle, very snatchy retarder and they also tend to weave around at high speeds. Fully functioning TopoDyn mitigates these factors somewhat and can make driving them more tolerable but in a nutshell an E20D/E40D would be the last thing I'd drive if I had a choice. Another thing I dislike is how you can't kneel the bus when doors have been opened. Personally I'd even take a slightly slower Scania over one as they are much more comfortable and functional - the cabin (minus the handbrake position) is also a lot better! The E400 MMC however is a big improvement from the previous gen, much better cab, less jerky brakes but I just hate how the pedals squeak on some of them.

Regarding E200s give me a Denis Dart anytime those are the best SD Buses in London. The best E400s in my opinion is the 55/56 reg up to 07 plates. Today's E200s are better than the MMC version personally as a passenger point of view they don't seem to travel very well I find them a bit sluggish but I do like the SEes though but not sure about the BELs as I haven't travelled on one since the last HT open day.
